Yes, played it through with that. No one shot killings, unless you are using a shotgun and with that you'll wake up the neighborhood and soon wish you can one shot kill Smile

More of the challenge comes from the sneak levels and bullet management. I like to open every box and look for them too and change guns, so best always has bullets. Going forward with faster pace would bring more challenge as well, although be more easy on gas mask filters.

Um, keys were given out like a year back and 6 months ago. All long gone, but I'm sure there's saved ones left.

Play it on hardest difficulty. I'm doing that and almost near the end. I hardly die and it's still a bit challenging sometimes.

Have you tried disabling tessellation and the DX11 DOF option?
(I think it was the DOF option that had some issues but it should have been fixed in a driver update, tessellation just caused a larger than normal performance hit.)

Also try to use AAA instead of MSAA 4X. Smile

Some overlay conflict then maybe, if you also have the Steam overlay enabled try to disable that and then keep AB on, could also try under different DirectX modes if you wanted but I'd skip it and just use what's preferred.

At least it's resolved. Smile

Nice, especially for those who have the console version of Metro 2033 which uses lower quality visuals, from how I understood those images it's 2033 that is remastered and Last Light has all DLC's bundled with it though having further updates for LL wouldn't be bad either. (Or gameplay enhancements like allowing the DLC weapons in the original campaign.)

and they deserve every penny. Even without that stupid ranger mode.

They should get all the moeny they want. Both metro are fantastic games and developers are humble and were patching the game plentyfull unlike some aaa titles

First game is miles superior to LL gameplay wise, but this Redux version sounds interesting and hopefully they did more than add gimmicks to it.

Metro 2033 might be worth it if they made stealth a possible approach as in Last Light. Always bugged me that it put forward stealth as viable when in fact it was pretty much nigh on impossible to get through a single level without the ultra sensitive AI from seeing you across a chasm with no lights at night time.

Derp all you like. I don't find it fun to play a game where the stealth doesn't work, but hey, it's easier just to play the patented nfohump derp card again.

Sure, we need to be able to stealth every single area in a shooter game!

just like Last Light did it! You want to stealth a room full of guards? Go ahead! It's very accessible! Hurr durr. Anyone can do it!

In Last Light I had to switch to guns blazing style after realizing how dull, extremely easy and boring stealth gameplay was (Ranger mode).

If stealth is put forward as a viable option for every room then yes, we do need to be able to do it. Maybe last light did make it too easy but having the stealth in a game that has stealth as a feature that isn't workable was not a good feature of the first game. Then again, rather than trying to tell me why the stealth was workable in 2033 you just keep banging that same old drum.

In the first game there were several areas for doing stealth, and they were awesome and challenging! You needed to progress really slow and silently! (and of course use darkness the most you could). But there were other areas where the stealth approach didn't make sense, and that variety is what made the game great, as linear as it was.

Last Light ruined all that, starting with the fact that your character didn't give a fuck about very lit areas. Step sounds? Naaaaah, must be cockroaches Laughing

Stealth worked, it was just pretty hard because the AI reacted to every little movement and other noises, even death groans and you had to aim very properly. Don't hit the helmet, hit the NECK underneath the helmet. Stealthing was a lot easier with the "stealth armor", I guess it's not possible to do the level after that without that armor.

I didn't find them awesome and challenging. I found them frustrating and too reliant on luck rather than any real stealth skill. Each to his own though and yeah, saying i want it more like last lights stealth is perhaps wrong as even I questioned why a guard couldn't see me because I was stood in a shadow but behind me was a blinding light so my silhouette would have stood out massively. Somewhere in between would make the original a better game for me. The only option I had in that game in the end was to gun through everything.

Funny because last time I played 2033 I felt like I can't get throught some areas going in and shooting everyone like crazy. No, I felt like I had to get stealthy in some areas and it worked, it worked really well actually. I also loved the mix between stealth and just normal gunfights. I don't think every game has to focus entirely on one of them, some games can have both in smaller amounts.

They merged levels together for fewer loadings. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-30-metro-redux-is-brighter-shinier-with-far-fewer-compromises-on-console

Quote:
PS4 and Xbox One versions will use the PC build's high-end textures - an upgrade from the PS3 and Xbox 360 originals. Outside areas have also been re-lit with a new lighting system, leaving environments brighter and filled with more details on screen.

Levels have been merged together to create larger environments with no breaks in tension or gameplay, and there's also the choice of playing both in Metro: Last Light-style "Spartan" mode, or Metro 2033-style "Survival" mode with smarter AI, plus slower reload and weapon swap times.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/469319/metro-redux-release-date-announced/

Quote:

Metro Redux will be available in the US from August 26 and August 29 in Europe, publisher Deep Silver has confirmed.

The Xbox One, PS4 and PC re-release of 4A Games' acclaimed post-apocalyptic shooter series will run at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One at 60 frames per second.

Deep Silver previously said Metro Redux is not just a 1080p port of the original games, and is instead a "true director's cut" that re-engineers both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light for modern hardware.

Both games will feature improved visuals - particularly in the case of Metro 2033, which was released in 2010. It will also feature new gameplay elements, content, and all of the original DLC.

Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux are also available separately as digital download.

Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light takes the action set-pieces of the first-person shooter genre and meld it with the atmosphere, high tension and resource scarcity of survival horrors. The series has become a cult hit among hardcore FPS players by distinguishing itself with a dark, interesting narrative.

Deep Silver has also released two new screenshots, take a look at them below.
