Agreed, everything went better than expected. Though I think I'll put it on hold at least until some magician manages to fix the hideous performance, it's nearly unplayable with many units and xplosions on the screen.
Yeah, got it for 24,99€ retail from a local media store. You just have to look in the right places.
Wow, that's what I call a very quick change of heart
The wait for Rome2 is to blame here (You know? That feeling when you wait for something and the closer it gets to you, the more unbearable it gets... just like waiting for christmas as a child. And I have no game that currently entertains me to pass the time )
What makes it even worse is that I know that shouldn't have grabbed it from the shelf..
Also doesn't mean that I'm not still furious about that peer2peer shit -.-
rld crack works but not for skirmish so your fine if you only want sp
for the hideous performance i did what i did ages back in beta disable their shit AA (cripples performance and tbh aint really wow) and put up sweet fx haven't had a singly hitch since then even tho the game says my avg perf is 48fps on a gtx 680 well it sure as hell aint 48 ingame with drops to 20 with aa disabled
but i agree the performance issues are engine related it's been like that since day 1 of the beta
never did finish the sp campaign in the the 1st COH. Never played more than a mission, and did not touch any of the expansions.. Lots of gameplay ahead if I ever choose to play SP

the sp campaign is as easy and uninspired as in the first one. heck, its even easier (if that's possible). Basically you just group all your units together and attack-move from checkpoint to checkpoint. You get a free unit (conscripts, penal.whatever) every minute or so, so you just keep pushing.
the new EF doesn't work with retail version of COH? WTF? Needs to be patched to V. 2.7.0? Retail only goes to 2.6.0.2 right? They did this because RELIC shutdown their servers and switched to steam, is that right? Doesn't work with anthology either.
Quote from EF guys
"What does this patch contain? As you might remember, Company of Heroes' servers from Quazal were shut down in May 7th and Steamworks was integrated on it in order to ensure the multiplayer component remains functional, pushing a new patch within, the version 2.700; this new version made incompatible custom factions with our current set up and also made the Strawman(recrew) bug appear once more.
Now, you might wonder why we delayed so much to fix it, and the answer is just because we were(and still are) busy with our University commitments and other real life issues and just a couple of days ago Cope was able to fix it. This means two things, first one is that Eastern Front is now compatible with the "new released" version on Steam and no longer works with the retail version.
We do no longer support the retail version because we only support the official version, and having different versions of Eastern Front would lead to confusion and would split the community into playing different versions of Eastern Front, something which we are against. Apologizes for any inconvenience related to this decision."
So I got my answer.... I mean COH is 10 bux on Steam. Just thought it a shit move not to provide support for the other versions. To get the new steam patch, you have to add your cd keys to steam and download the patch. And then you may use the mod... So awaiting a 2.7.0 crack patch apparently. Even v1.80 of EF can't be used with retail version. Must be steam patched to play.
