Unfortunately I really, really, really, really, really... hate the action sequences (whether they are the plot driven kind or the side plot kind). It could have been more natural or something - let us have some input maybe. I just find it tiring.
And as Palle points out clearly - you'll be staring at the screen burning your retinas out in this game. It's not nice at all.
Other than that though it is very enjoyable.
Doesn't live up to my expectations, but sets a nice precedent for the future of adventure/movie games and at the end of the day it's a great ride to be a part of. |
yup... the action sequences are really disturbing... they make you miss the action that is happening... and they are mostly totally useless and just get so annoying the more often they appear...

it's difficult to get the positioning right. There is a box or something that sticks out. Go up to it and use first person view to have a look around and then focus on the boy and go back to thirdperson view to talk to him. |

What am I spoiling exactly? The fustration of having to position your character in a certain area? I revealed nothing regarding the whys and what-have-yous - I just gave locations for something someone had asked for explicitly already.
If you think it's a spoiler (not having played the game), then don't worry. I know how bad spoilers can be and I wouldn't do it to you. This is nothing, seriously.
But it reminds me that the control scheme on the PC is 100% better than console. It is so difficult on PS2, sometimes he walks wonky!

Ya know after playing the PC demo I would rather play this type of game on a console anyway. Its not as if your running and shooting plus the GFX isn't that great.

On the PS2 the vibration is good, but unless you have a good quality television the difference is bad. Not graphically but on your eyes (refresh rate and image quality) and more importantly the controls.
It can be insanely dumb sometimes when the camera changes angles. The controls get locked and you are moving in the stupidiest direction. Never happened to me on the PC Demo, at least, not to the extent where I was screaming at the game.

I have Xbox so I hope the refresh rate isn't that bad, also I did have probs with the camera on the PC.

Fahrenheit
/description
Fahrenheit, a spectacular interactive thriller, set in New-York, gives gamers the unique chance to play both hunter
and fugitive, which in turn leads them to speak, explore, interact, fight and confront unknown dark forces.
For no apparent reason, ordinary people are randomly killing total strangers. Although there is no link between the
murderers, they all seem to follow exactly the same ritual and pattern.
Lucas Kane becomes one of these murderers when he kills a stranger in the men's room of a restaurant. Finding himself
in control of Lucas, the player is haunted by strange visions and the desperate need to find out what is happening to
him. At the same time he must keep one step ahead of the police, especially Inspector Carla Valenti and her teammate
agent Tyler Miles.
/release note
This is a new kind of emu method especially designed for TAGES.
It is not quite a clone as we arent dealing with a 1:1 standalone copy.
That is, the twinsector data have not been added back into the image.
Technically it works like alcohol or dtools, running
a daemon that "reads" the tdf file and emulates the twin sectors.
This is released now so that people can enjoy this fine game
and not 6 monthes after street date.

Note: The TetrisEmu was created by some other fine folks, namely the
Tetris Team. We cannot offer any support for it. Also feel free
to release a 100% reversed version if you like, we have
better things to do .
