failed here also with, I only have a LG CD Burner and a NEC DVD Burner, I'm sick of this clonecd's releases of starforce, the only way around is to crack the damn thing, I mean, honestly the game cracking scene is losing the war against starforce, we really need a strong solution soon or else starforce will stole us every top games, I doubt DT4 will be the solution, and even if it works, it will never be with a burnt image, starforce must be cracked and disabled, it's the only way around

Works fine here. Couldn't burn slower than 8x, but no problem.
Burned on sony disc with Aopen burner.
DON'T WRITE ON YOUR DISC. It won't work anymore.
Very good protection, starforce. I actually couldn't believe it, but the game worked untill I wrote on the disc with a special cd-marker. Tried it twice. Burned it again, didn't write on the disc and eveything works fine again.

burned with PIONEER DVR-108 DVD-RW
on TDK 48x media at 4x speed
installed with LiOn 16-48 DVD-ROM
Protection Check FAILED, takes like over a minute to check and while it's checking my system basically crawls to it's feet can barely move the cursor...
FUCK YOU STARFORCE

Strange, burned it on a lg gce-8320b (8xspeed) and on a nec2510a(4xspeed).
Seems to work sometimes; When starforce is checking the disk, sometimes it starts up with 15 seconds, but sometimes it takes up to 2/3 mins before the games starts, but most of the time a get a protection error.
I've used even very cheap supermarket media, which works sometimes.
The MAME disks I used, didn't work.

Burner: ASUS 24x10x40
Reader: LG DVD 16x
Media: Intenso CD-R 52x ->don't work
Datawrite 52x ->don't work either
Any media you would recomend? I can't find any Sony Supremas in Lisbon stores (where I live).

Burner: Plextor PX-708A
Reader: Liteon ...
Media: TDK 52x
Something that might be interesting for other people with problems:
When running the game from the reader and the burner left empty, the disk checking fails after a few minutes. But when another disk is in the burner and the gamecd is in the reader it magically works!! In my case the cd in the burner was an audiocd with cd-rom part (no cdr/w)
Exact the same method works for CRC2005.
