Actually, from most people's feedback you'll likely enjoy it more if you HAVEN'T played the games prior to watching the film Very Happy The film takes a lot of liberties with the overall plot and backstory, but it's no less excellent.

Agreed these are the best video game based movies, but IMO between them Silent Hill is the best of those by far.

lol, strangely enough many people on steam report that changing stuff in dxdiag.TXT file (wtf) solves some of the problems. afair its only output file (something like log) so why the fuck changing anything there actually affects something in game?

anyway here`s original info

Yup, I'm with consolitis; Silent Hill really is the best game>movie conversion and is a damned fine film regardless.

Man this is infuriating beyond belief!

There doesn't seem to be any consistency to the controls whatsoever - half the time the key you press registers a move, the other half of the time it just completely ignores it. It took me almost 20 minutes to register that X, A, Y combo in the tutorial.

And some of these other combos, the ones that are like Back+A,+Forward+Up (all while holding down right trigger) + x but not before releasing the initial A and hitting Y+Up/Down Start.

.....well, I'm sorry, but I don't think I have enough fucking fingers on my hands to coordinate that kind of shit. I'm not sure how many they have over there, but here, we only have 10.

I remember this being much more enjoyable as a kid. Sigh.

Throw away the gamepad and try with the keyboard. I had the same problem as you pretty much, but then I configured the key bindings for the keyboard the way I wanted and now I can pull out pretty much any combo, as long as I know how to do it. Smile The gamepad just felt very unnatural to me.

It does, you need to use greenluma or smth... i don't know the details, but it's possible, just don't do it on your regular steam account.

Anyone had problems with "half" the damn keyboard working? It's like, either my num pad works and I can do attacks or my movement keys on the other side work, but I can't attack. I have a Gigabyte Osmium Aivia mechanical keyboard, foo what it's worth (which wasn't no damn $100+ dollars, that's for sure)

Try this:

http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/content/projects/KeyboardGhostingDemo.aspx

See how many keys you can press simultaneously. You might need to setup the keybinds differently to get it working if your kb's limited.

The Aivia Osmium is like $130 and supports 64 simultaneous key presses. That can't be it. Thanks for the input though. This keyboard has been wacky since I bought it. Sometimes it goes goes out and I have to reboot my PC. It draws from usb 3.0 and 2.0. I would not recommend it, although, when I bought it, the reviews were stellar. Zero firmware updates and I can't even get on their support sight without some "check" number in addition to my serial number... fuckers.

dunno what you`re doing but you`re doing it wrong. theres no inconsistency whatsoever, mk has one of the simplest, easiest to pull off moves. i have no idea how is it possible that it took you 20 minutes to do 3-hit basic button combos, also that second combo transcription is wrong, theres no such thing as +f+j while holding trigger, wtf. you either ment jumping forward or what.

my problem is i use keyboard way to fast so i either must buffer moves in advance or slow them down to do a proper connected combo/juggle. either way, i`m just practicing for 2 days so i dont expect that everything will land perfectly and i`ll be doing +30% combos instantly.

sonya is supposed to be one of the best tier characters, but i never liked her in any previous mk games, tho i might check her this time.

Yeah I was suprised too, but it actually works. I guess the game creates that log and checks some data.
I tried running the game on my brothers laptop with integrated Intel gfx chip and it wouldn't run. It just showed an error that graphic card is not supported and that it doesn't have enough memory.
After changing the amount of dedicated memory in that dxdiag file game started just fine.
Too bad that performance was so low that game works in slow motion, but it was worth to try.
Works great on desktop anyway.

The 30 FPS mod works great if you limit the framerate on nVidia inspector, but everything else outside the battle is still in slow motion. At least now I can play the game maxed out at 1080p in my old computer.

Started playing story mode today. lots of fun for a simple fight. got past mk 1 era so far. toughest fight was against scorpion+quan chi.gor is as easy as he was in mk 1 ages ago. just jump around and kick him Laughing shang tsung defeated me twice then i owned him.

Liu kang isn't as easy to play as he used to be thoguh. they changed his moves list completely.

I also had a weird bug. During scorpion's chapter The fight against nighwolf was slow motion. It was only that fight so I have no idea if thats supposed to happen or the game bugged out.

anyone else had the same issue?
