Its the american way to do that right? Blame your own stupidity on everyone else. Shot someone and its tv or computergames fault, become fat and its mcdonalds fault etc Laughing

OH MY GOD.... LOL. EXACTLY, lol.. so funny Laughing Laughing
Oh noo i raised my children by giving them cash every morning so they could buy pizza and hamburgers at school, now they are fat!! Lets sue the state!!!!
God damn idiot country, yes i DO like alot about that country, mainly the economy, but i HATE the reason for it, the reason for the economy. See in my post.

That isn't the "American" way. If it were, the lawsuits would be successful instead of being thrown out at summary judgment. Its ridiculous to blame these companies as being the sole excuse that your child is fat or committed a violent act, but lawyers are always on the prowl for a target with deep pockets. It gets even better when the defendant is one who won't look particularly sympathetic in a courtroom.

Take GTA:San Andreas. We all know that 99.99% of people can play the game without resorting to killing people. Unfortunately there is that .01% that do idiotic things and blame others, but they won't have deep pockets so they're not worth suing. So the lawyers for the victims, being quite clever, look for a 3rd party that could become a fall guy. Imagine a group of mothers shown missions where you carjack people, kill other gang members, score points for killing cops, and play a sex mini-game if you figure out the code. It won't matter that the game wasn't the proximate cause of the injuries, all that will matter is that they see victims (police officer families, etc) vs. a corporation distributing "filth" to young people. Its just common sense for the lawyers, and I'm surprised Jack Thompson and his ilk haven't been more successful.

I think the real lesson is that if you deal in controversial materials, be prepared to face lawsuits and problems. That is how its always been and how it always will be.
