Continuing to the next Stephen King adaptation on my list..

1408 - 5.5/10

A very idiotic movie that consists of John Cusack talking to himself in the set of a haunted room. So scary lol wut

Do not believe the movie's poster, Samuel Jackson is barely in it; he is in one major scene where he tries to stop Cusack from going in the room, one that lasts only a few seconds in the room as part of the visions and one that lasts a little longer in the end, but only in the Director's Cut.

So as I said this movie is really Cusack in a room.. talking to himself.. yeah.. how exciting Facepalm

you don't like cusack? I don't think we can be friends anymore.

I never said that brah, what I said is that having one dude talking to himself ("ok. I can do this!" etc) for most of the time because there are no other characters to talk to is boring, stupid and non scary. Cusack all things considered did a good job.

The best scene in the movie was the exchange between Cusack and Jackson, but then Jackson disappears.. and we are left with Cusack talking to himself lol wut

nothing wrong with cusack talking to himself Razz
i could listen to him talk all day, watch him talk, watch him shower, watch him get dressed, watch him freak out

1408 wasn't thaaat bad. but yeah... it should've been more of a stage play rather than a movie. it's also that cusack didn't really carry the role THAT much. and it wasn't creepy enough. silly jump scares. boo. ahh. oh lol you got me.

Only god Forgives - 5/10

I understood the metaphysical message/odd moral that Refn wanted to convey here, and somehow I appreciated the unique artistic style and violence, but the dullness and complete lack of likeable characters made me find the movie more tedious than enjoyable.

The whole "story" simply didn't give me emotions, it felt like an experiment that had the potential to become something great, but decided to stay in the "I want but I can't" limbo. A shame..

It was fairly good, but it's been a while since I saw that many failed jokes on a movie, ouch. Also didn't understand the big fuss that it was made about the guy who directed this? Confused

Next Stephen King adaptation on my list:

Secret Window - 8/10

Depp is really fun in this hence my high rating.
The bad guy is meh.
The plot twist predictable from the first five minutes.

tl;dr a really enjoyable Depp flick.

The Stand - 7.5/10

That's more like it. Flawed, sure, but there's lots to like, although the 4th and last part is easily the worst and I didn't care for the ending (which from what I read didn't wow those that read the book either).

Unlike The Langoliers this TV movie would definitely improve if it was even longer (it's already 6h long) because for a few characters we almost didn't learn anything about other than their name and during the 4th part especially, some characters almost completely changed from how they were behaving to what the script wanted them to become without the necessary character development (due to time constraints probably).

It's a bit more cheesy/outdated than I'd like it to be but towards the end of the first part I had become completely sucked in and couldn't wait until the next parts download. So despite whatever cons there are I have to highly recommend it to everyone!!

A modern decently budgeted remake in 12 episodes of 45 min format would probably be absolutely amazing. Crying or Very sad

BTW I just check out a couple of issues of the comic book adaptation and I am disappointed to find out that this moves even faster than the TV movie, so I wouldn't recommend it as your first "contact" with the story. The book or TV movie would be better.

World War Z - 8/10
Yeah some people might argue that the score is abit high. It's higher than I expected to give it since Im a big fan of the book and the movie is very little like it. However, I found it entertaining as hell so if You can just see it as just another zombie movie rather than World War Z...its quite good.
I only wish there was more gore...or ANY gore for that matter Smile

Yep, I agree. Expected more since Gosling was in it post-Drive, and though there was nothing wrong with his performance the movie was quite lacking overall.

Justice League the flashpoint paradox - 3/5
Justice League Crisis on two Earths - 3/5
Justice League Doom - 3/5

Really like the animation style and the overall mature theme. Theres even some depth here which I really enjoyed and a little hint of philosphy and the value and meaning of life. James Woods does a real good job in Doom.

The director's cut is what I watched (see bold text) as that's the version available on dvd/bluray.

But I've also checked the 2 other endings on youtube:

- the theatrical
- the alternate (unused)
- and there's even another alternate one (unused) exclusive to a special edition by a certain retailer from what I've read which is the theatrical slightly modified. This I haven't seen but I read about it.

I consider the director's cut ending the worst of all, so yeah.. the movie really baffled me with the choices they made.. Embarassed Laughing

superb performance, again, by Cruise. Beautiful movie. It's not a very plot heavy movie (it's basically spoiler proof lol), but i really enjoyed myself watching it. Great sets and visuals and overall great production values.

As a sci-fi fan I sincerely disagree. Way to many cliches and a plot that is given away after 10 min. Cruise is fine in it though, I was just expecting more from this movie.
