Hehe, so I'm sitting here listening to Spotify and got one of those urges to search for some old music I used to listen to years ago. First, Lost Highway OST - nope, not in Spotify and then I remember this stammering dude who had his 15 minutes of fame - Scatman John. Voila, there are all his albums, I fire up the 1st one (Scatman's World) and HOOOOOOLYYYYY FUCK I forgot how fucking awesome this album is. Seriously, almost every song on it is pure birlliance. I think the last time I encountered the album of such quality it was with "The best of..." from Abba. Anyway, check it out guys, it's fucking awesome and also, I'm so glad my music taste didn't change in the last decades or so Razz

That's because Scatman John was fantastic! You're right about the stammering too, he used scatting and singing as a way of training his voice and covering up the stammering. He was truly amazing and died way, way too young Sad I loved his music and he always seemed to not only have fun with the songs, but also providing a message to the world too Smile

Scatman was the soundtrack of all the birthday parties/summer-related stuff in the mid 90s along with What is Love. I have fond memories of him xD

IIRC, here we only had the original hit from him, and a very few other songs and then he vanished. Good to see that he became well loved before he died.

Yep, he basically had one one (and hist first) succesful album - Scatman's World, the second one wasn't that popular. Sill, Scatman's World is absolutely amazing piece of work, of 13 songs on it, like 11 is fucking great.
