I got no clue really what is what and what is good and what isn't, anyone here who could shed some light on the dB values etc which is good and which isn't?

If you check the Rate and Attainable Rate, it is pretty bullshit with this new ISP...

SNR is the major one for a stable line, the lower that gets the more chance of a line failing.

Some routers let you manually adjust the SNR to push it higher if you are having problems.

at 8 / 10 its in what I would have called normal range, but all lines are different and that 8 could drop into the danger zones (ohhhhhh) when street lights come on, or if its rains (for example) so its worth keeping an eye on.

Some good info here - http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/linestats.htm | http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/lowSNR.htm
