Vitality realease of Mass Effect here, BDTS installs fine but the PS installation fails although it still seems to install the 1.02 patch according to the game tab on the configuration utility.

I am using Windows 7x64 Ultimate.

Mexeyz, yup they install the patches.

So technically, I can install Vitality or whatever release of Mass Effect, install only BDTS from Skidrow's package, then update to 1.02 and crack with Reloaded crack and it will work, unlike the previous BDTS release with the 1.02 patch and new crack?

Seeing as ME2 is only a month away i thought i would recap on the story so far and i am downloading ME. So i would like to know if i need anything special to download.

I downloaded PROPER RELOADED version and the skidrow DLC pack and 1.02 patch. Is there anything special i need to download for example a special crack for the patch or a galaxy map fix? I remembered that a year ago when it came out there was a issue with the galaxy map and thats why im asking this. Dont want to find after 5 hours of playing that my save is corrupted.

Galaxy map issue was the fault of the first crack, it's not related to the game.

Skidrow release seems to work fine based on other comments but it might have brought back the "bug" (Protection related actually.) where weapons sometimes overheat faster than normal. (Don't fully remember what the problem was so this might be a bit inaccurate.)

I replayed the game a while ago but will start anew in the sequel, would be fun to read about what the various possible changes are when importing a savegame.
(Party members obviously but what about relations and certain quests like sparing or killing that insect thing and so on, might have to replay the original game once more after all, haha.)

Updated the game with the skidrow release (game was in original state-no patches-no dlc).Everything works fine so far.Tried first time to start game with launcher but gave me a "your game is compromized-reinstall game" (what is that??) and launched game with the Mass Effect executable instead.

That's a sort of file check, normally for corrupted or altered files and more specifically for people (incorrectly) tweaking the game INI files (Default settings.) compared to the user created files after starting the game (Personal settings.) or to be more annoying to detect cracked files (GTA IV supposedly locks Razor1911.dll without a little hack as a example.) or modified game files (Mods in general or just smaller tweaks like no-intro "patches") Smile

You'll get that bug on a completely legal version of ME also. They never bothered to fix it even after people showed that it was related to achievement unlocks (weapons, geth kills, organic kills). I had no issues the whole time I played the game with Vitality's release when it was new, but now that I'm replaying it again on a legal version to get ready for ME2 I have already had to clear those achievements out of my profile in order to stop the overheating. Not sure if Skidrow's crack works as well as Vitality's did.

And I have to agree with people here and at almost every gaming site that reviewed Pinnacle Station. It's a flaming pile of shit that should never have seen the light of day. The only redeeming value it has is the loot table in the apartment at the end.

If it includes a replacement EXE you should just be able to extract it over the existing content and run said EXE directly. Smile

I didn't really enjoy ME, but I bought it and I'll replay it soon. At this price it's a crime not to buy it. Very Happy

Couldn't get to try Skidrow's pack earlier, but just to report: installed both DLCs on top of Reloaded's clean installation (no patches and no cracks), works fine. Also runs via launcher, no need to start the main EXE directly.

Thanks to rampart for the heads up on this Wink

I recommend logging into your moddb account and downloading it from their servers because the parts from gamefront seem corrupted. You need all 9 parts extracted into the folder with the exe and then install from there.

Also make sure to read the readme for some of the required ini changes he recommends to get the full effect.

Looks bonertastic! So Much Win

I had massive crashes/freezes at the same spots over and over - (intro presidium cut-scene, then at the same exact spot in the consort chambers near the volus) - after trying dozens of supposed solutions, I ran across one that has proven 100% stable ever since.

Flag the MassEffect.exe file as Large Address Aware using this tool - http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachments/laa_2_0_4-zip.34392/

Since having done this I've played dozens of hours, nary a crash/freeze.

Give it a shot! The mod breathes new life into an aging classic, definitely worth a bit of do it yourself fixes in order to get it running stably. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! Very Happy

Hell, you should use LAA for *any* game that you run texture mods on. Most recently I've been playing Dragon Age Origins and it'll crash constantly if the .exe isn't LAA when using large texture mods. Flag the exe and everything has been gravy since Smile
