Cold turkey didn't work for me, I did it about 5 years ago.. I went cold turkey 4 months. was outside with a friend as he was having one, and my craving for one smelling it made me ask him for one.
weither I stick to this for years isnt a big concern, I hope to not be doing it by years end. but if I am, and its affordable, no biggy. Only reason I was quitting real cigs was the price really.. I could care less if it was what killed me, the $350 month was what was killing me now..haha

You can't proof that it doesn't work for most people or does work best since it's a case-to-case scenario that varies from person to person, that makes "presenting facts" quite difficult.
Sites like cancer.org state that only 3,5% of quitters do it via going cold but these statistics aren't reliable since they only cover people that got asked about their habbits.
However,if you ask around/read posts of people that did stop smoking you will read a lot of "tried the cold way and it didn't work for me so i started burning em up again".That leaves the impression to me,that quitting without any replacement often leads to re-use of cigs. This doesn't mean that it is a set-in-stone fact,it's called opinion i guess.

I think it's 10 or 11 bux a pack here now? Imagine smoking 2 packs a day at that price... Crazy

That's why I always smoked hand-rolling tobacco, can get a pouch for £6.50 (duty free, the "in store" price was anywhere between £13 and £15) and it lasted two weeks, sometimes more, yet a pack of 20 cigs costs £7 and would last you a day! The flying fuck...?

I think it's currently around €7-8,- per package here.. Whereas they where (before the euro) for 2-3 Gulden (1 Euro = 2.20 Gulden..)..

Why not give that Chantix a try? My mum quit smoking several years back after going for hypnosis and it worked, she quit for almost two years but started again after her father died. She then tried the Chantix drug and was free of smoking in a couple weeks, hasn't gone back since. |
Because its not that I want to quit for health reasons, was just the price. if tomorrow they went back to $2 a pack Id be buying a carton
Why I chose the e-cig alternative, still can have the 'busywork' of smoking, without spending a car payment a month on it. Plus if I ever do decide to quit all the way (maybe by the end of the year), these seem a lot easier. I can go a whole day without doing this..and not be too annoyed. when smoking cigs, after an hour I was grumpy and needed one.

Yea Max thanks for the tip!
Using 2.4 ohm now at around 4v and MUCH smoother and better tasting..no more burn taste on long draws.
still on the fence about a provari, and any suggestions of good e-juice sites? Ive been using mt baker, they got great tasting ones, with amazing prices, and deliver within 2 days to my door from the date I order.
But I think they got in over their head and grew too fast, 90% of the flavors I like are always out of stock. so need a good backup site.
I tried checking on the forums you suggested, but hard to tell, out of 100 people there is like 101 'goto' sites they all recommend.

once you know what flavors you like,it's cheaper to mix yourself like Max said. For the price of 1 10ml bottle ready-to-vape liquid you can buy a small bottle of flavor to mix at least 50ml of vape-material.

Might do that, Since I've narrowed it down to just 2: some kinda coffee, and strawberry, are the only two flavors I don't get tired of after a day.
I just need to get off my ass and go lookup how to do it..so I get the right nicotine mixture, flavor amount..etc
Some others, like cinnamon roll I REALLY like, but get tired of tasting like I've been chewing on a cinnamon roll for 6 hours.

if im not mistaken cinnamon is one of the flavors thats actually toxic... they get the flavor by mixing other flavors together to get that flavor. there is a PERFECT couple of threads on ejuice making on that forum. One of them has the list of safe and unsafe flavors from the 3 big extract manufacturers... lorrean or whatever is what i use since stores here sell it. i love watermelon, peach, apple, straw and stuff... the dark color flavors dont mix or smoke well AT ALL though for some reason.
500ml of pg and vg juice should be around 6 dollars each from a pharmacy... the extracts are around 4 bux or so each. thats 20 bux total (with droppers and bottles and such) to mix enough juice for the rest of ur life. now nicotine is another matter.

my buddy runs a pretty decent E cig online retailer here.... dont think those juices online are sanitary or very precise in measurements. It was one of the reasons why i chose to do my own. bathtub brews lol
but yah dont over dose on nicotine ahahah its dangerous.

Just an update if anyone wants some feedback on parts.
Picked up a protank, do not like it at ALL.
waaay to airy a draw, muted flavors no matter what flavors I try..and overly heavy on weight.
the glass tank is nice..but other than that, I used it about an hour and went back to my cheap $6 dual coiled Kanger T2.
I like the Kanger T2 even more than the vivi nova. Perfect draw on it, spot on for the drag you'd expect a cigarette to have, and nice flavor and vapor production.
