I live in bricks house too and it's fine as long as it remains 35C or under outside. Any hotter and my floor turns into a sauna |
I have 4 floors above me, 2 apartments left of me and 1 to the right of me, behind me is the hallway and another apartment.
Yet in my PC room it gets hotter then outside
Livingroom is a different story (when i keep the door closed) and won't go above 23/24 degrees

My PC room has four large windows and the fucking sun is hitting them from 7 to 12. It's unbearable I had to move my PC to a different room yesterday. I can't imagine how is it for those who have their rooms facing south.
As long as the sun isn't hitting the room directly, and I keep the doors closed I'm able to maintain sub-30 temperatures. Although my PC acts like a damn heater as well.

I got to have something in front of the window, because the sun is almost for the entire day directly on it..
Plus it's only 2 by 3 (or 4 actually) in size, with 2 (older) monitors that give massive heat and 2 PC's that are nonstop on

I have to turn my PC off at night so it doesn't heat the room. :/

I live in a typical cold war flat type of a builiding bulit in the early 90s. Thing is made of concrete blocks and few years ago had the outside walls insulated to keep it warmer in winter. Even having only one window that is covered from sun it still is the hottest room in apartment....
Last night was awesome I was falling asleep and waking up around 50 times, I feel much more tired now than before I went to "sleep". This weather will kill me

Fuck everything about Bucharest in the summer, particularly, I am sick and tired of all the peasants carrying cheese and plastic bottles and whatnot in public transport. Leave home smelling of clean clothes and deodorant, and arrive at work smelling of piss and cheese.
Have I mentioned the general street smells?
Can't wait for summer to end, I absolutely hate summer.

The house where I'm living in at the moment is very old (typical country house from the 1950s) and even if it got restructured three times, it's still made with the same cheap tuff stone bricks + regular ones that are the worst combo ever when it comes to have optimal temps.
Extremely hot in the summer (the house literally absorbs sunrays like a solar panel) and extremely cold/humid in the winter (thermal insulation? haha and what's that ). Also no AC, so these days I'm permanently living in hell. xD

First and foremost, I agree. Fuck summer.
Secondly, my office at home used to get near 35° (with outside temps ~40°) in the summer due to my air-cooled PC running all of the time, the sun hitting the house just the right way, and the fact that my house has little, if any, insulation (it was built in 1959). Then I water-cooled my pc, which dropped the temps substantially (the savings in electricity from running the A/C all day alone paid for the conversion and have continued to save me substantial money). Then, I started letting my computers go to sleep (I do, however, have them all set to be able to be woken up by magic packets that I send via an app on my phone), which has saved me even more money. Last summer, before I let them sleep, my average summer electric bill was ~$350. This year the highest bill I've had was $186 (both amounts in USD). Considering it cost me ~$500 to water cool my main rig two years ago, I've more than paid for that and also have saved enough to buy moar guns (I am an AMERICAN, aren't I?).
Thirdly, yesterday, in my shop, it was 48° with a relative humidity of 98% and a dew point of 24°. I was out there for at least nine out of the eleven hours that I was at work yesterday. Your misery means nothing to me now.

Well, if it wasn't for a few jobs I've had in the past couple of months + the fact I'm going in my cousins house (for free), I'd end up being home alone too xD
