So this one needs a little explanation, I'll try and keep it short...
Basically, I am a Catholic... Now, I'm not an overly religious person, I don't attend mass every Sunday, pray every night, have pictures of Jesus or crosses in my house, I don't have a "what would Jesus do" sticker on my car...etc, but I'm still a Catholic. So in order for the Catholic church to recognize my up-coming marriage, actually give us a blessing and allow us to be "part" of the church I need to take 2 courses known as Pre Cana classes with my fiance. I did this today...
There were about 30 couples, we were there for 7 excruciatingly boring hours, talked, listened, filled out forms, answered questions... all that fun shit.
Anyway, they handed out a bunch of books for us and this was one of the pages...
Yup....Catholics....
I guess I won't be shooting loads into my future wife's ass anytime soon lmao.

Leo
The amount of hypocrisy in these catholic "rules" never ceases to amaze me. But it's all right, the evil sexual perversion named by Satan himself butsex66 ultimately breaks the sacred bond of the holy marriage

Hahaha, nice guys.
They were really pushing the no sex before marriage and no contraception shtick, the other parts weren't so bad, but blatantly obvious to us... You know, good communication, no lies, faithfulness so forth and so on.
Kind of ridiculous to me, but whatever I'm glad it's over with...

Yeah, I talked with friends recently who are "Catholic". I ask them: what about pre-marital sex? You do it and you still believe and go to church. Their answer: "I just choose what I believe in".
Well that is handy, reject rules of your religion if they don't fit you. |
Same for me honestly, there are certain aspects I just....I can't. If that makes me less of a Catholic, or non Catholic then so be it.
I just think some of their ideals are too extreme. |
That makes you the right kind of modern catholic if you ask me, the one that believes, but isn't a puppet manipulated by irrational laws and rules made by some crazy hermits 1000 years ago.
I'm an atheist, but if I were religious, I'd be like you (which is a paradoxical thing to say..but makes sense when you think about it ). One can believe in a god while not being so obtuse to adhere to such stupid preconceptions. 'Open minded' and 'religious' should coexist in a hypothetical good world, unlike what the church is trying to impose.
In a nutshell, fhitb
