Recently he has worked with Tom Cruise on Jack Reacher, which I haven't watched. In the past they did Valkyrie together (edit: correction; he wrote and produced) which I haven't watched either.
Mi4 was a let down for me, I hope this one fairs better.

Jack Reacher was pretty good actually. A couple of awkward scenes sure, but otherwise very well done. The final shooting was borderline generic though, I admit.
Anyway, after M:I Ghost Protocol, I'm looking forward to the next one. However I must say, I'm positive the best M:I movie hasn't been done yet. And I very well see Tom Cruise doing it at age 65-70 or something.
i dunno, i couldnt handle the cringe-worthy dialogue in it, at times i thought maybe they did it on purpose so it seems more realistic and less witty, but nah, it was just plain bad writing.
If it's the same guy that was behind Jack Reacher and MI4, I say good news! They are both entertaining movies for what they are (IMO), nothing too spectacular or mind-blowing but as pure action flicks, they do their job just fine.
The John Woo-directed MI was a joke!? Are you serious? It was awesome!

I think both 1 & 2 are flawed but very enjoyable. 3 is probably the best (IMOOOO of course). 4 I thought it was as bland as it gets. It wasn't a bad movie, it just felt very by the numbers to me and bored me.

i liked mi 2 more than i did the last one. atleast mi2 had some great action sequences.. it was pure dumb action fun. didnt really enjoy mi4. it wasnt terrible, it just wasnt as strong as the previous films.
Sure, if that movie wasn't representing the Mission Impossible franchise, which by the way isn't about "pure dumb action" at all, I surely would have liked it

MI2 was fuckin awesome. that epic scene with cruise and the girl exchanging the pistols in that lab where theyre under attack and the hans zimmer music. man that pumped me. sweet.

Agreeing with Laurentiu in this section must be one of the worst sensations ever xD, kinda like agreeing with KC when it comes to framerate/resolutions and various technicalities

yea i actually love that scene, even though the movie sucked overall (and i m a huge sucker for woo´s hk cinema like a better tomorrow, hard boiled etc.).
