10 years ago? I had the 56K and used to spend my days trolling italian forums, lurking teh Nforce, playing PC games 24/7 while downloading stuff from DreDWerkZ and watching low-resolution porn pictures from shady sites that always managed to infect my beloved computer.
I wasn't much of an online gamer back then..because my contract was already damn expensive and my parents were constantly pissed off about that.

Italy is way back when it comes to internet. Ixi is now living with what most people had 5 years ago |
Yeah, we got ADSL in 2005 here  ..2Mbit, not too bad. 8 years have passed, and I'm on a 4Mbit. |

Aww sucks...but at least you tried! The first chance is always hit 'n miss (literally xD), you get all excited with people studying all your moves, ready to wave the hammer and bash you in the head. I bet bad luck played a big role too.
I've always been a semi-noobcake with sloth-like reflexes, so I've never had to deal with that in the first place (who knows, maybe it's for the best ) |

had no internet
most of my time was spend playing amiga games on my CD-32 or PSx/Gameboy/Snes games on PC 486dx2/100mhz or p4
back then i bought computer game magazines with covert disks that had full versions of games on them
life was simple back then
my family lived back then 
fuck you for making me remember my life
