Indeed.
Full 4 player local coop.
Vita version has 4 player ad-hoc coop

Yup, 4 player local and online coop ... and if you prefer solo play, like me, you can have AI companions in your party too Smile The animation is top notch, as always in Vanillaware titles, and the attention to detail - both foreground and background - is sublime. I was pratting around near the guild, jumping and attacking, getting the feel for the Amazon's controls and I bashed into some guy walking with a basket of apples, he dropped them on the floor and cursed me before bending down to pick them up.

DAT ANIMATION So Much Win

How is this compared to Odin Sphere? Ive watched a few lets plays and it seems you can move up and down, not just left and right, correct?

It's just like Golden Axe or Sacred Citadel, with some "progression" elements in it. Very enjoyable game and tons of secrets to uncover too Smile

Oh and Kotaku is going to have a field day psychoanalysing and White Knighting all over those images Laughing I'm starting to think a lot of these images were drawn by George Kamitani *after* the Kotaku farticle hit the net, with assholes like Jason Schreier blasting VanillaWare and George Kamitani as "childish" and "immature" Laughing

Firstly, this game is pure shit. And, with that being the case, I'm a newly converted fecalpheliac because I love this type of shit.

Also, playing the game with friends while using some lawn-care products is so much fun...except when you get the inevitable, "guy-on-your-own-team-who-insists-on-hitting-everyone-even-his-own-teammates."

And I don't see the problem with the artwork. Sure, it's a tad misogynistic, but the portrayal of men in the game is misandristic so it's all even because games=art and art is open to interpretation. Of course, some "journalists" believe that interpretation=possible condemnation which is why I label them as "journalists" instead of journalists.

I'm perfectly fine with someone having an opinion. However, I am not fine when they use their opinion to try and denigrate a section of the population because said section doesn't agree with their opinion.

All of that said, fuck them for being so close-minded that they aren't going to enjoy this game as much as we are. It's their fucking loss and so be it.

The spirit (chained girl) is the only character who reacts in that way when you click em.
Everyone else there's at best a little text message telling you more about whatever you clicked on.
Eyes, clothes, items the character is holding, etc.

In the video it seems like the male character there, Roland, is reacting somehow too but he makes his grunting noises either way. Probably because he's exhausted after slaughtering dozens of orcs. They have nothing to do with the player clicking his nipples Razz

I'm now 40 hours into the game with no end in sight. It's amazing, I love it!
Can't wait to try other characters and in about 5 hours I'll probably hit the inferno chaos labyrinth.
My main right now is a level 64 amazon and she's kicking ass.

So...is the game worth on Vita for portable fun?..i've heard it has problems with the framerate but dunno if it'll affect the entire SINGLE PLAYER experience or just multiplayer..

I can't decide between PS3 or Vita..since there's NO CROSSBUY

Word on gamefaqs is that the vita version does suffer from slowdown, but rarely, like in a full high level game with wizards and sorceresses casting fullscreen spells.

If you're gonna do singleplayer mostly I don't think you'll have any issues at all.

The game was built with the vita touchscreen in mind and clicking stuff in the scenery to cast rune magic and trigger loot drops on the vita touchscreen is very easy, fast and natural.
On the PS3 it's a bit cumbersome as there you have to move a cursor with the right analogue stick. Takes some getting used to and will probably never be as fast as using the vita touchscreen.

It doesn't bother me a lot on PS3, but the vita version feels a bit nicer.
The big screen is still more important to me but that might be different for you.

Also the japanese version on the ps3 already got a patch that improves the cursor usage and makes it less annoying so that'll be cool.

So for me personally I prefer the PS3 version simply due to the fact that I can play on the TV.
Objectively though I'd say the Vita version is slightly superior. I haven't played on it much yet but so far haven't seen any slowdown.

If you like to play with the DPad for movement instead of analogue I think the vita dpad is better than the dual shock one.
Also Vita version at least on PSN is only 40$ while PS3 version is 50$.

It does have slowdown. On levels with oil barrels + fire, and too much spell casting. Touchscreen isnt really that great for collecting loot IMO. AFAIK the rear touchpad doesnt work so you are going to be swiping your finger everywhere blocking the action and greasing up your screen. Turning up the cursor sensitivity helped a lot.

When soloing I think it's fine, but multiplayer using the stick to click anything is a pain in the ass. Because every time another player moves around it'll shift the screen and you'll have to adjust where you move the cursor to get to where you want.

WIth people jumping around all the time you'll be hard pressed to hit any runewords and items. Clicking those spots with your finger instantly is just so much easier. Outweighs the drawback of having to lift your finger and touching the screen by far imo.

53 hours in, still going strong. Level 88 on my amazon now, moving on to Labyrinth of Chaos level 10+
