Hah, np. It took me a minute, too. I was like: why all the disconnected wires--ohhhhh.

Fucking ace game, though. Really enjoyed it.

No. You explore the house, read letters and other scattered-around paper media all the time, and slowly but steadily uncover what's really happened.

The only slightly uneasy moment (and the only one I currently have any recollection of) that can be considered of the bothersome kind is when you're in between floors (going from one floor to the other through a hidden passage) and pick a wooden cross, the hanging light bulb next you bursts and you're left in the dark with a sensation making you check every possible location in a 360-degree angle. Very Happy

go to your room from the basement [near the furnace ], using the secret passage way when you have to press a lever to open a hidden door behind a book case ... and LOOK DOWN , near it , you will find a prescription with a code

Just finished it. AMAZING. Totally loved it. not really my kind of story, but it was totally surprising and different experience.

How all the answerws came together and so on.
Finished in one sitting. Exactly 2hours and 10 minutes and I was exploring VERY slow.

couldnt find a code to basement safe. what is it and what's inside ?

Yeah, indie/small team or not.. I don't think it was quite worth $20. Damned good game and a really enjoyable/unique experience, but $20? I'm not so sure.

Just played through this little game (it's more like an "experience", though), it was surprisingly enjoyable. Barely any gameplay involved as usual when it comes to this kind of games, but the alternative storytelling and 'intimate' atmosphere with the detailed interactive environments were a nice touch. Razz

It's something pretty unique, perhaps not as incredible as the reviewers out there want us to believe, but it works really well. The story unfolds nicely, too. And about the ending...

story.
This must have been the most uninteresting anticlimactic shit I've ever been subjected to in video game history.
HUGE props to the developers for making a game that was so atmospheric and compelling that I sat through that glued to my seat until the very end.

7/10

version 1.01 out on CSRIN

Code:
v1.01:

• Dice texture updated for accuracy.
• Special Thanks updated to include landlords.
• Soda can label oz math fixed.
• Dates updated in Ghost Hunter logbook for timeline accuracy.
• Fixed a few other dates/days in text and images.
• User can now use command lines to enter alternate rendering modes as a workaround for driver bug that causes dynamic lights not to draw. Run game with command line switch “-ForwardRendering” or “-VertexLit” to force alternate rendering modes.
• Replaced SecondaryFont with more legible font.
• Disabled audio debugging on some audio sources.
• Fixed “Daniel” audio diary subtitles for accuracy to text.
• Can no longer unlock basement safe without needing combination by crouching and getting extremely close to it.
• Fixed Terrence’s last name in Oscar’s will layover text.
• Updated Russian and Korean fonts to be smaller.
• Added playerblocker behind garbage can in Servant’s Quarters to ensure player cannot get stuck.
• Fixed collision in East Hall Closet and on threshold of Sam’s room to prevent player’s view from clipping through floor.
• Fixed issue causing some map room labels not to be localized.
• Fixed Modifiers page not being localized.
• Fixed Crouch Style pulldown not localizing properly.
• ”Or” in procedurally formatted player command text is now localized.
• Toggle switches (ie faucets and certain other interactables) now have all interact states properly localized.
• First digit of combination lock UI now properly highlights when UI is opened.

chill out man, life is beautifull...

I started replaying this yestyerday, and for no reason, I have REALLY Low FPS. Whatever I do, i'm stuck at like 5 fps!

I was able to play it on medium at around 50-60fps last time (like 2 months ago)

If you're running any kind of monitoring tool, like Afterburner/RivaTuner/Precision, check to make sure 3D mode has been engaged. I had the same trouble and found that Afterburner hadn't detected Gone Home so it didn't enable 3D mode on the GPUs.

Great indie game, very atmospheric and by short instants creepy Very Happy and I liked the "mundane" story, sometimes those are the most satisfying. This will probably end in my top 5 indie games of the year, though it's not quite on the same level as a masterpiece like The Swapper or even a mind provoking game like Antichamber.

Anyway, on to Papers, please and approaching the end my 2013 indie game tour so I can name my 5 titles in Neon's thread Very Happy

Just finished it, thx to blackdochia.

them onion chopping, invisible ninja's almost got me Laughing

Loved the ambiance, the soundtrack, the voice of Sam, the 90's museum that I got to virtually walk around.

and the story was ok too. it is just a teenage love story, but the presentation was well done.

reminds you why teenage years are so awesome. great little interactive story. warm and fuzzy nostalgia for the 90's and teenage days accomplished. thx devs Crying or Very sad

!!

It's a shame that this got caught up in the SJW indie bullshit drama as it really did bring an unfairly negative opinion about the game. It had a good story, lots of wonderful little background touches that required you to really look for them (like Oscar's past) and the ambience was so perfectly designed. It FELT 90s, it really did.
