Use non-lethal weapons/gadgets? You also don't have to take out every single target.
Well I like it, I just spent 75 minutes on a single mission. At this rate, I'll finish it in a month. It's more actioney than the trilogy, but I don't mind it. It's a different kind of beast, but I seem to like it as much as CT (oh no he diiiint!).
Are the sidemissions meant to be done solo also or is it really made for co-op?
edit: well I just started Charlie's mission, I'm meant to survive 20 waves? By doing what, going Rambo on their assess? Weird mission for Sam.

Did the first one in 65 minutes and a few seconds and then I saw that there was a bonus for under 65, haha!
Uhm, so yeah... I did that mission and I like the game, playing on perfectionist, of course. I don't know if Splinter Cell is back to its former glory, but some mixed game with the focus on stealth has been born for sure. It takes elements from quite a few games. The whole ship aspect is from Mass Effect as has been mentioned. It's a pretty cool thing actually. The actual missions feel more like Mark of the Ninja than the previous Splinter Cell games to me. And that's cool as well. I like the game so far and it seems like it has a ton of content.
Performance wise I can't say I'm happy. It runs a bit crappy on my system, but I managed to find a way to make it run decent. I installed the beta driver as well and it seems to run better thanks to that (I just hope it doesn't crash other games now). I'm downloading the patch right now as I don't think Uplay installed it. It seems pretty big and it's supposed to have fixes for performance as well, so here's hope it improves that.

Yeah, that side mission is weird. The ones where you have to eliminate targets or steal some intel are good though and work just fine solo. The co-op part basically means that there are one or two routes which you can't access while playing solo.

I'm talking about getting past a room full of people silently.
I must have missed something because I didn't see a way to get through them silently.

Are we sure it's region free to begin with?

You have to neutralize them either lethally or non-lethally and reinforcements get sent in if you are detected. The other type of side mission does however require you to not be detected and also gives a bonus if you leave all the enemies undisturbed.

Yes, and I remember that until a few days ago at least, those were only giftable to russian/CIS users, and up until release date, you couldn't find a Steam version offered on Steamtrades, only Uplay. However, I got lucky and traded one for 17 TF2 keys and it was RU/CIS, which I downloaded and am playing with zero issues.
I wonder if they suddenly made the RU/CIS steam version giftable to everyone to bump sales?

Why it have to be a gift? What will happen if I by it from plati.ru for instance? The only game I bought from russian store was Sleeping Dogs and I didn't have any problem activating the key, will there be a problem with the Cocklist? Because in roxen.ru the standard edition is for 10 euro which is AWESOME HOLY SHIT price for this game and I am really tempted getting it from there.

In the case of Ubi games, because if you want them to be the Steam version, they need to be bought directly from the Steam store or received as a gift on Steam. Any key you buy outside of steam will be Uplay only.
The only exception I've seen so far is Amazon keys for Assassin's Creed 3 which apparently can be activated on Steam, but that wasn't true until months after the game was released.

Just played a couple mission. Graphics are pretty bad I must say, way below expectations. Even Conviction looked better than this :/ gameplay-wise seems the same as conviction so far.

Does anyone know what UNDETECTED really means?
It only says COMPLETE WITHOUT BEING DETECTED IN GAMEPLAY
Does that mean you can't use checkpoints and must restart mission whenever detected?

God damn it when I run the dx 11 exe it does some system validation thing and then it just crashes the exe, WTF. I've reinstalled it twice and I am using that latest nvid beta driver that's supposed to increase the games performance.
