I have played this and get the feeling that this is a beta version, and not the final product. The two main reasons I have noticed so far is that the game somtimes is very "choppy" (not smooth), and that the comentary is nowhere to be found (atlest, I could'nt find it).

Anyone got any views on this?

Alot of games that come out nowadays seem unfinished but for FIFA this seemed ok to me I didn't notice any major choppiness in frame rates although the game seemed a little sluggish until I changed the speed setting in options to fast. Plus there was full commentary in mine as well, I was going to make a point of saying how good the commentary was in the other FIFA 06 thread until they started talking the usual nonsense which didn't relate to any of the onfield action. Laughing

What region did you select when you started the game?

I picked english if it was the language setting you were referring to. Oh well, maybe i missed something, gonna check i out now...

its quite frustrating, usually i get major choppiness when i get anywhere near the opponents goal. commentators realise that i have scored about 15seconds after it happened.
the difference between trough balls in fifa and pes is still fucking huge,its almost impossible to get a perfect trough ball in fifa.
scripted goals is boring as hell, way to easy to score goals.

The commentary works now, but is far from perfect. Still having problems with choppiness.

I also find it sometimes impossible to get the pass to the player i want. I sometimes find it impossible to work out how to pass to player I want. Often it should be quite obvious whic player I am aiming for, but the player seems to pass at random (almost). Very frustrating.

Yes its multi.

@Vembi have you tryed playing the game from your Xbox hard disc thats solved any choppiness issues that I've had with games in the past - I have that problem every now and then when I use cheap media. Always worth a try. Wink

got the same problem. Very choppy sometimes.

But that´s not the worse...

One time I shot in the sidenetting and the referee said it was a goal ?!?!?!
I watched the replay so many times from different angles but the ball clearly hits the sidenetting and almost gets out to the cornerflag. Saved the replay so when I get a TV card for my PC i will rip it Razz

Really disappointed with this shit...

I had that shit happen 2x in a single game.

At least they were my goals. Man i suck at this game Neutral

yeah I don't like that feature either if you use the trick stick in the direction your running you can touch the ball ahead of yourself which is almost equivalent to a burst of speed, not as good as genuine speed but it gets you away from some defenders.

only 2 things IMO that it could be then are incompatibilities between the version/region of the game and your hardware or your settings in evox or whichever dash you use.

I've ran it on both my UK Xboxes with Xecuter 2.3 chips, 4983 Bios, latest Evox dash with the video settings set to PAL, Video Mode set to Auto Switch:No, Pal 60 enabled, Faster Refresh rate enabled and I've had no problems with it. I guess theres always the pc version (higher res graphics and all), good luck fixing the issue in any case Very Happy

edit....I take that back about playing the pc version, it looks foul even on a high end PC the fact that theres no bloom highlighs how bad/basic the textures are and the crowd look like cardboard cutouts. Crying or Very sad

I see that Silent have released a full retail Pal version of Fifa 2006...Should be no complaints about this one....

I seen it in the store today and played it and the retail version is loads better

Yeah I saw that as well, im surprised I guess I just put the game being bad down to the fact that it was a poor game I played the pc version as well and found it equally bad.

Im gonna grab it shortly so I can see the differences in the meantime how does it play compared to the supposed beta/promo what would you say are the main differences? Smile

the biggest difference is the framerate.......the dagger release is very sluggish, and the retails is as smooth as a babies bum !!

ah right, I was hoping for changes to the way the game actually plays - alot of people picked up on the fact that every player on the field seems to run at roughly the same speed, the passing seemed slightly ropey, you could score goals through the side netting and the cpu opponents overuse shielding. Perhaps this just isn't the game for me. Razz

I made a shot on goal and I missed (about 10 meters) and
it was a goal. Cheched the replay...clearly not a goal...but 1-0
Only happened once in 30 matches orso.
I have the dagger release...beta/bug maybe?
