to me it just sounds like another try for ubisofts online only DRM now masked as MMOish games which can be played solo (Division, Crew) - but maybe i am just too cynical
yeah i know - i just hate that pseudosocial "nextgen" crap - and with my baclkog i have still a lot to play through whole PS4/XBone generation
Will see about division - i just cant see the awesomeness on it - look like generic TPS with MMOish elements to me
I was hoping this game was something like DayZ but without the zombies and shit, tons of PVP, intense fighting, etc. Didn't realize it was more PVE focused
Will this game offer Single Play mode (with plot/story) ?
Most likely not. Being "next-gen", it is all about combining single and multiplayer together. It is an innovation and it combats piracy without using obvious DRM.
Well, it’s a next-gen game so obviously it’s got to have dogs! No, dogs won’t have any special significance other than the fact that New York has over 300,000 dogs living in the city, so imagine if they are all let loose at once… You may encounter some particularly nasty ones, but no they don’t play a significant role.

This is a MP game Sabin, you can't play this, right?
Earlier previews had the developers talking about how it's geared for solo and "partying" isn't forced, so that's the only reason I'm excited for it. The game looks like a modern-dayish Hellgate London I'm not keen on this new talk about "focus on PvP" etc

Well unless they take out open world PvP, or host a PvE server you won't be playing this.
And what I don't like about MMO's is their unfriendly, unsocial open world gameplay. Kill stealing mobs, picking up items that have a respawn timer... So I highly doubt, even if this would be PvE, you would play it .

True enough, I'm not into big PvP battles. They simply don't interest me.

Yup, true enough again. That's why I was hoping for a solo experience, but if that means it's still like every other open-world MMO where people can run along and gank you or kill steal? Meh, no thanks
When they announced it initially, weren't you supposed to be vulnerable to other player attacks only during some special sequences, like waiting for extraction?

As much as I love the sexy nextgen visuals here, I'm not excited just yet, simply because there are so many question marks left about the modes, gameplay as in "is there anything else beside cover shooting?", team management when playing offline and many other aspects, that my interest could disappear as soon as some bad news start to pop up. I'm just mildly curious for now
@Sabin - While I can definitely see your perspective on the PvP portion they are spewing lately, I was wondering your take on the co-op aspect of the game. Any interest in that at all?
Personally, I'm not so much into PvP, especially in regards to any sort of "RPG" since it's almost always unbalanced to the extreme. I applaud them for trying, but it's rare they get it right. Just leave it alone, I say.
On the other hand, I'm a huge fan of Coop gameplay and this is what is appealing to me, especially with this game. In a way, it kind of reminds me of The Last Of Us with coop. Sorta anyway.

Naw, to be completely honest I'm not really into co-op much either. I like to play a game and take my time, explore, read, experiment, really soak myself in the experience.. and that is largely incompatible with two people playing together - one invariably wants to go off and do their own thing, while the other wants to take it slow and chilled. Then comes the expectation, people looking for a co-op buddy and having to be around at certain times or for certain events :\
Hmm, that's pretty reasonable. I can see that. And it DOES happen with my friends and I at times for sure. The schedule thing I think is what makes it the most difficult to accommodate. Most of my friends are in different time zones now (used to be in the same, locally).
Well, to each their own for sure. I hope this has a solo experience for your sake as well as others (and my own, too!). It sure looks to be fun.

Well, at least it's coming to PC.. that's a start. As long as it's not based on a subscription fee then I don't see any harm checking it out when it arrives, providing the reviews and whatnot are good Who knows? Perhaps I'll grow to like co-op?
