This game begs to be dropped down the bin. I could create a character on EU server this morning, but my friend gets home way too late and the servers are locked again. And to make things more perfect than they are the fucking japs don't allow server transfers so i'm stuck in a NA zone so i won't be able to raid if i stick with this region. FUCK

Umm, it's not a beta anymore. You'll need to install the retail client now.

Soooooo, all EU servers are closed for character creation... Do they open them up when there are less people or are they permanently locked until they add more servers?

I think they open them up when there are less people, because yesterday (well kind of still today) about 1-2 A.M. I could create a character on almost every EU server

Well I got my Lancer to 15.. I had planned on pushing it to 30 and becoming a Dragoon but man getting into an instance as a DPS seems to be a pain in the ass.
Think I'll push my guardian up to 15 next to see how big a grind it is without quests (did the lancer with quests). Once thats done I can push my Mara to 30 and unlock the Warrior as my first job. Then finish the 15 levels on the lancer to unlock the dragoon.
I'm tempted to start another char to get my magic classes sorted, I'm starting to consider healing as a fun thing to do in game (I'm generally a healer in other MMO's), I'm slightly worried about the grind after all the quests are gone :\..

Holy shit, found out the most terrible thing i could have ever imagined yesterday when leveling. You can only do most quests just once. ONCE. Else you got fates and levequests. What the shitfest are they thinking? There comes a time when the story is forgotten and i would like to refresh myself with the events, but as it looks now, it's not possible. Jebus.

I'm actually struggling to understand what you're going for here. When I play WoW, and I finish a zone, those quests don't come back, with the exception of some dailies. When I finish heart quests in GW2, those don't reset. This is normal..
The difference is that you can actually be all classes on one character, which increases the need for repeatable content. I assume that if you were to create a new character on the same server, the quests would all be there, like any other MMO.

I gathered that if you were to create a new character on the same server that the quests would be gone. I found it almost too insane to be real, but if it's the case as you say then i don't have a problem.

Yeah, although I'm not that fussed about archery yet, that may change if/when it becomes needed for new classes.
Right now I'm doing Dragoon/Warrior. After that I'll probably do Summoner/White Mage.
You only have enough quest areas to do 3 classes from what I can gather so far.. but it may be even less than that. The game was designed with repeatable quests in mind which frustrates me slightly. When you compare it to other MMO's though its fairly similar in nature, only you'd have to start from scratch with those so it would just feel different.
