I like what I'm hearing from PAX so far (especially the fact that isometric view is back), except for this:

Selecting the "Shut up" option in Mass Effect, for example, may have led to an unexpected act of violence that didn't suit the character, or damaged something later on that you may not have expected. Now, when you highlight dialog, you'll see a text pop-up explaining what's likely to happen if you say or do something. This is optional, so if you'd rather not know that a village will certainly fall if you leave its under-attack inhabitants hanging, or you'd rather deal with it on your own terms, you can.
Just let me see exactly what my character is going to say and then I'll decide if it's worth saying. I don't need to know the consequences of every decision before actually making it. They're fixing the wrong problem with the wheel, instead of just going back to the full phrase system as they should.
Doesn't look too shabby for a straight fantasy action game, seems the typical title that you play from the couch with the controller plugged in to bash stuff mindlessly and use some basic tactical abilities.
Personally I'd have changed the name of the franchise by now, but you know how they roll these days. I only hope they don't advertise it as classic RPG like they did with ME3

"PC is basically our lead platform because we all develop on the PC," producer Cameron Lee told VideoGamer.com earlier this week. "We have these mind-blowing, powerful PCs that are just incredible.
"So we develop on that first and foremost and then we keep the other platforms up and running to make sure they don't fall behind."
Well this looks better than expected. Also i like how you feel how mighty the swings with the 2hand sword are. But then it looks crap when your slashes just clip through the shield and don't stop before, like they should

Why would it be back if it never was absent? We had it in DA1, and we had it in DA2 as well, it just was heavily mutilated and turned into some retarded piece of crap. And now they use it as a shouting headline? Thanks for bringing back what was here! I'm sure will buy this game then!
And the funniest thing is that few seconds later they show aRPG battle gameplay. Explain me please, how do you plan to combine both systems again without ending up with another DA2? If you remember pre-release promises for DA, they said PC gamers will be able to choose between action style and tactical style from DA1. Twas bullshit and everyone who tried PC version know it. Same here: unless they decide to do something extraordinary, something that never was done before - ie literally TWO separate gameplay modes with completely different mechanics (basically two games in one) - this is yet again another PR and marketing bullshit.
Still aint expecting much though to be honest, I remember the
10 /10) GREATESTTTTTTTTTTTT RPG EVERRRRRRR Dragon Age 2 reviews.
But that video has done its job I suppose if its making more people interested.

I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
Sad to see its remaining a third person action game rather than going back to a party focused one, but meh... I'll still play it regardless, but still looks like more of the same.
If I watch someone play Witcher 2 on easy, it looks like that. How can you judge combat by a demo vid which probably has god mode activated?
I personally don't care much about combat in RPGs though. I just hope this one IS actually and RPG. Sadly, that can't be judged from that vid. "It looks good" is all I can get out of that vid.
It looks cool. It's kind of what I expected and wanted the first game to work like, seeing all the cinematics with the brutal battles before it was actually released. That's how I was playing the first game as well, until I went into battles because I was forced into the isometric old party-based combat system from other RPGs. This one offers both styles of play to players from what I understand, so that's fine for me.
What I'm worried about is the writing. There's no way I'm going through another game with the quality of writing from the second game. Also, the performance. It will likely run like complete shit for me because FROSTSHIT2OMAGAD!!!one1!! Don't worry they say... it'll have options! But it will run the same, so suck it, haha!!!
We'll see...

I can put WItcher 2 on easy and roll, bash, roll, bash, roll, bash all the time without dying. You can ruin every game by playing like a moron. To give a more recent example, I can ruin Blacklist by playing it on normal like Rambo.
