I'd like to point out that this very thread holds proof why publishers buy reviews.

A 7/10 game seems to be bad nowadays Laughing

No wonder they shove out tons of money to get them precious 9's.

Eh, I guess I'll make myself feel better and gonna go visit Total War Center Forums. I bet people there go apeshit over those reviews, hehehehe....

Oh, and:

44 FPS with Titan. And they said it scales well with older hardware? Very Happy ROFLMAO.

Oh, fuck me. Bought it 2 hours ago and now we get all those negative reviews, ffs Sad I trust Eurogamer and it gives it only 7, shit... Gonna read RPS review now, my second most trusted site. It doesn't bode well for my 45$ Sad

Did you actually read the review or did you just check the score!?

Its a typical TW game, i don't understand why everyone is so jumpy....

The weird part is they don't read like 7/10 reviews at all. They are really positive besides a few negatives like some bugs, late game performance, etc

Then you go look at Civ 5 reviews or something, it was awful at release and averaged 9/10

Well gamestar gave it a 89/100 but still it reads like a 70/100. The AI (both campaign and battle) is worse than ever before (if you can trust the review).

There's actually nothing weird about those scores. The game doesn't have "Call of Duty" in the title Laughing

One of the journos prefers to auto-resolve everything in general. You have to judge for yourself how much his opinion is worth to you. Laughing

there is something called different settings. scaling doesn't mean, it runs at max on 5 year old hardware ...

To give you an idea of what I mean, here are my PC specs…

Intel i7 3770K 4.6ghz
16GB DDR3 2100mhz
2 x GTX 680 SLI – 326.80 (beta driver)
Win 7

Whilst it is about a year old, it’s far from being underpowered for the game. The benchmark gave me an average of 32fps.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Anyway wtf, dat is some serious shit. Its gonna be slideshow @ 1440p (tho my 780 OC´d is about 20-30% faster than stock 780). No way its gonna be that heavy, must be some driver issue on both sides.

Didn't see a link to the RPS "Wot I think", so here it is...

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/09/02/wot-i-think-total-war-rome-ii/

Worth reading... I don't feel bad about pre-ordering it, based on this.

Come on. A TW game that is buggy and have poor AI. That is pretty much standard. If you are willing to put down money and pre-order a game, then you should have expected the continued culture of Total War extended into Rome 2 as well.

Also if you have already bought the game, why would you care about reviews? Play the damn game and make your own judgement. Reviews are for those who don't have access and want to know more about the product.

7/10 scores isn't because it's a bad game.
It is because it's another Total War with lack of innovation.
