Im pretty sure it runs much better when its actually released (with day 1 patch), and new drivers. No way it can run that shit on top end hardware, it would be total fail.
Didn't expect such a bad performance, but that's on uber details/dx11 and I never use those anyway since my card is far from being a beast. It will probably be more than playable on medium, or at least I hope so.
I'm honestly more concerned about bugs and problems with the predictable AI that many reviews seem to mention; I guess the game requires the usual dose of heavy day1-to-day30 patching.
The performance could be down to some setting that just kills it with no real benefit. Didn't Shogun 2 have some dx 11 options that killed framerate but it otherwise ran pretty damn well?
That pic sucks. The fail formating aside. 20% played for 10 hours or more. Thats pretty high if you consider most reviewers just rush through most of the games. 7.1% even played for 100 hours or more
On the other hand, how can then only 18% used 20-99 turns (7% have 100 or more turns)
Yes it is. I saw it with my own eyes. Lots of people were pointing it out for days on the Steam forums too.
Good lord, that explains everything..it's so damn sad

Indeed, soft-shadows/tessellation (and probably others that I can't remember) were very heavy if I recall correctly. But once you disabled those, the game ran decently.

you are missing the point, that 70% didn't even play 1 hour.
Ever played 1 hour or less in a TW game ? Believe me, there isn't much to write about. Not anything with any depth anyways
Randir14 said, 'ingame AA' not 'AF'. You may have been correcting him, who knows? AA is a bitch. AF not so much on modern cards. I was not referring to your quip on AF. That's what wasn't' clear. Doesn't matter relax. Enjoy your Rome 2.
well aslong as it doesn't feature the get kicked from game shogun 2 suffered from for a while or the nice lose connection to relic servers and get zilch xp bugs i can live with a small performance issue here and there ^^
and usually the stuff reviewers get is past beta / gone gold but most of the times a day one patch is needed these days (my buddy that bugfights at bioware get's some fun to see glitches )
