I'm liking the changes made to the UI :

For people who like the new layout but want the old skin : very very easy to do with mods, should be available in the first day.
I'm curious about this : "remastered area artwork from original renders"
Ossian Studios is apparently involved in some way.
Not so good : 25$.
Edit : The new UI is being brought to BG:EE in a patch. Nice.

Errr, what happened with the gazillions of patches that BGEE needs?!
There should normally be a pretty big patch coming soon; they were working on releasing it when they were forced to "stop development" because of the legal kerfuffle with Atari.
Obviously, it looks like they continued working on the games anyway and can now go back to wrapping up a patch.
(Android version tho? That one is still totally MIA, even tho I believe some of the engine improvements made for the Android version will be included in the patch.)

Yeah, the next patch's is currently planned to be released as open beta in September. It's quite large and among other things upgrades the UI to what's used in BG2EE.
Oh , to add insult to injury it seems that ATARI is solely responsible for the Steam version. Meaning Beamdog probably gets something around 10% royalties from sales .
No wonder they want to keep it a Beamdog exclusive now
That sucks... But I'll stick by my "Steam-only" desire for this. The main plus to Steam is convenience, and if I have to faff about with creating a BeamDog store account, downloading from their site, manually updating patches, then I may as well just dig out my BG2 discs. Oh, sure, it won't have their "improivements". But I won't be paying £15-20 for it, at least.

Hope the next installment is treated better from the start, making so many patches afterwards is just a mess.
You have to forgive them for the messy launch and all the endless patches, it's an incredibly ambitious game after all, pretty huge as well, complex to develop from scratch
