Maybe they fixed problems specific to their release, because I've had Steam open all day and there hasn't been a patch. A CA developer said a patch is coming next week at the earliest.

There is no SKIDROW release for this game.
There were solution using SKIDROW CEG emu before RELOADED release came out, but all came from P2P.

Start playing as Sparta, first battle, I have superior numbers and veteran units (about 4 to 1) enemy only has a basic single general (cavalry) unit. I attack with my 4 units (3 spearmen, 1 javelin archers) suddenly all my four units rout and I lose the battle.

And here I thought Spartans were grown up to be tough. I guess history taught me wrong. Wink

Man....those Celts...they breed like fucking rabbits I tell you.

Finally finished taking the boot of Italy and subjugating some people on the right (they're client states, I can't be assed to remember their name, they're nothing but a cash cow to me now )

Anyway, expanded a bit further up and pissed off the Celtic Alliance (composed of three factions). They may be nothing but meat shields with pointy non-metallic sticks, but I'll be goddamned if there isn't an infinite number of them. Sad

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

seems to run a bit like the Native American tribes in Kingdoms. Tax the buggers like mad while still maintaining +5 growth and build an ant army. Works every time Smile

The time between turns is killing me... I can't play... I really thought they may have learned a little from previous releases.

I'm having fun Smile

Runs fine on High settings and turns take 30 seconds which is long but not unbearably long. I just play windowed and do whatever while it's running the turn.

So I´m just installing it on my SSD and will try these two things I´ve read over at TWcenter

1. try to install the dx from the gamefolder
2. turn of the forced DX11 in "preferences.script", looks like this is one of the bigger impacts on performance, especially for me with a 580gt 3gb without dx 11 support

ye, didnt do any good for me thought, apart removing shadows that covered everything and couldnt see shit, tbh game runs so poorly, maybe with new drivers and sli it will be better, but as it is it looks worse than medieval 2, let a lone shogun or empire, and runs tenfold worse than any of those

Ouch... I did it and my fps dropped from 41 to 34 Shocked after I turned dx11 on again I went back to 38. Confused

gfx_enable_directx11 option is worth setting to false for people who have cards which don't have dx11 support, because the game tires to force it, nevertheless. Without that - shadows are pitch black, without any transparency, covering everything they can. But for those who have dx11 - it will make SM v3 the only available.

SLI doesn't work. If you force it...well it's Company of Heroes 2 all over again I'm afraid. Sorry I bought this damn thing.

This is basically what I've done. It's not even the performance and bugs, the game just doesn't feel as fun as past TW games. It just rushed and flawed

For battle performance and in extent also the benchmark scene the alpha smoothing option whatever the hell it does had that early zoomed out scene with the deer at ~10 FPS when enabled and around 30 when disabled.

Overall though the average was still 27.x frames over the whole test since that above scene only lasts a few seconds.
(That option seems to have three settings, off, on and then on with Intel acceleration if you have the hardware for it, similar to the direct resource option I suppose.)

(I haven't bothered yet with comparing individual settings, DOF on high and shadows on Extreme probably murders the framerate more than the other options.)

I mentioned the performance impact two posts later after trying this by myself so yes, thanks for confirming my experience Smile

You´re right about the GT thing. However it´s the 3 GB version and I have no fucking clue what it is called but obviously not GT. And don´t think about telling me because I´m no hardware boy (wasn´t that hard to discover erh?) and I don´t care Very Happy

For the DX11... I don´t know why I wrote this but my card supports DX 11 for sure
