I don't think SLi was working properly, so I sorted it. *seems* okay so far...

~edit~

Motion blur "tweaks" don't work though, yes I've set the OLSystemSettings.ini file to readonly after disabling motion blur, still there >_> Screw motion blur, screw its creator and screw people to advocate it. It's as much a scourge on gaming as bloom, especially when used to ludicrous excess such as in this game.

~edit~

SEVEN entries for "motionblur" in OLSystemSettings. Jesus. Set them all to false, motion blur nastiness has now gone \o/

Okayokayokayokay... I'm out. I'm out. I'm a wimp, nope, too much. I'm out. Basement, water, being stalked, he caught sight of me and chased... I tried to hide but wasn't fast enough, just as I climbed into a locker, I turned round and he was there - grabbed me, I freaked the FUCK out, alt-f4 Laughing Crying or Very sad I scared the SHIT out of my wife so many times with jump sounds too! Nope, I'm out!!! It's a fucking HELL of a game though, I'll say that much, downright terrified by it, yes, but still a hell of a game.

It's time to rise the gamma!

I played some more.. it gets worse. Very Happy Though after the initial shocks you kinda get used to them nasty monsters, all you have to do is find exploits in order too fool their tiny brain (like Djaoni said, fortunately they're not very smart Laughing).

Too bad they seem to have a perfect timing, with SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER being their motto. Evil or Very Mad

Thank god my nerves have hardened since playing Call of Cthulhu on my Oculus rift, I've been looking forward to this one. I hope it doesn't give me the "sense of familiarity" that Penumbra and Amnesia did, where half-way thru the game I'd be getting jaded and thinking "oh another hound, oh another door to close in his face to escape". I want nauseating dread, dammit! I want to hysterically fumble for ALT-F4 in the dark whilst tearing off my headphones.

Well horror games and other scary media mostly causes small frights and "jumps" or what to call them, you are usually never truly terrified.

EDIT: That said hook this game up to the Occulus or just enable 3D mode and things might get a bit more real, although I guess until there's full VR horror simulation it can't quite match the real thing just yet. Smile

First off: COCDCOTE had slipped under my radar, I had never played it before, and I didn't expect such a level of quality in storytelling and atmosphere. Very, very good design Cool

The rift support is basically perfect once you have tweaked the settings a little (to suit your eyesight). The game has almost no HUD, which is a good thing in the Rift. The headtracking works perfectly. The 3D and the sense of scale is fantastic, everything just "looks right".

I have played it for more than 3 hours straight on my Rift, without issues. Some cutscenes feel a bit weird because the camera suddenly moves from "out of your own head" but that's no big deal. Some bits have truly frightened me (mommy in the attic) and others had me panicking (the chase scene in the hotel), it's been an emotional
playthru to say the least Very Happy
