Can't point a reason to waste your time. ALI213 Steam Emu is even better than RELOADED one.

One more question. Is pixelation really as terrible terrible ?

OT:
Yonda, yes with TriDef, it should run with generic profile. I'm assuming you have pressed NUMPAD-0 while ingame and then enabled 3D, etc?
I used beta 2 or 3 of the TriDef Injector, maybe the later betas have broken it?
I went with these settings I found on riftenabled.com and only had to tweak the yaw/pitch scaling for headtracking. Try tweaking World Scale a slight bit.
Quote: |
* Mouse sensitivity: 2
* Yaw scale: -1400
* Pitch scale: -1500
* Output FoV: 110
* Game FoV: 115
* World scale: 3.20
* Depth level: 100

KC, antialiasing helps LOADS. Also, you'll see everything in 1280x800, but the Rift will automatically downsample if you set the game's resolution higher than that (up to 1920x1080), resulting in better image.
The "screen door" effect is very subtle for me, and I personally get used to it within minutes and I won't even see it anymore. Basically I found the sharpness very impressive when I first got it, I had expected much worse.

KC since you are downsample addict without any jaggies, i would not recommend the Oculus Rift on its current state, i have tried it and it looks so bad, the resolution is just not cutting it.

OK, opinions on the devkit resolution are pretty negative overall. I have had some of my most memorable experiences in 640x480 on large CRT, and I think I still have a very high tolerance to blur and jaggies.
The control schemes are bottlenecks. Some games get it right, though, especially the FPS games with minimal HUD and decoupled (mouse) aiming and (headtracked) looking.
I have played over 70 hours of TF2 in my Rift and the decoupled controls are 100% on point. Have played Q1 and Q2 DM a surprisingly high level with decoupled aiming as well.
110$ shipping costs sounds like alot. I paid 357.20$ including shipping to netherlands in may. I didn't have to pay extra import fees on top of that.

u checked it with the rift? damn, write something more. isnt it too much in that kind of game (ie horror genre), can you play for few hours or do you need to take breaks?

I had Nvidia 3D vision setup back in the day, and i could not really play long times without breaks, got massive headache from 3D games. Movies for me works good, can watch 2 hour movie without any problems. I guess rift would be the same for me, i only tried it for like 10 minutes, it was enough to judge that the resolution is shit, but its still fucking cool (with full HD or better it will be day one purchase for sure).

What a surprisingly good game! Very atmospheric, great level design, nice graphics and a decent story that made me want to find out more.
For me it's one of those games that, once finished, leaves you the urge to play more of it.
Score: 8.9 (not 9.0, as it's slightly unpolished )
EDIT
Guess I'll install Condemned next and get revenge with some melee action on terrors haunting me.

It's kinda true that the scares fade out after a while. I'm like 1-2hrs in, and you see the psychos so often that after a while, it's just funny!
