Well. There is no WOW factor if that's what you mean.

It's basically DOD, as faithful as possible recreated in the HL2 engine. Jury is still out as far as I'm concerned. Going to have to play it more seriously tommorow but it's what I was expecting - however I didn't realise I wouldn't be that excited once I actually got to play it.

Oh well.

Definately needs a new sound pack though - I hate default sound set.

BTW the sound system is exactly the same one from the HL2 singleplayer game. It's not new as people are saying (even previews). It's overused though (perhaps because the majority of maps are small) which means that a MG just a building ahead say can sound mufflled.

It makes for good atmosphere mind.

Yeah theres no rael WOW factor, it's dod but with a few bugs, like getting stuck in other players and you kinda "lag" when you bump into other players too which is really annoying.
I feel they have changed the nades a bit and they dont have nades for all classes which is a bit shit sometimes.
Will give it a more serious try tomorrow aswell... now... it's bedtime

Hey I wouldn't risk it. Valve won't care.

Incidentally does anyone else hate the sounds as much as me? Well - seems that it's not that easy to replace them because you need to split a sound file into both a FIRST PERSON SOUND and a DISTANCE SOUND by having the FPS in the left channel of a stereo file and the distance sound in the right channel.

Needless to say I cannot be bothered with all that malarkey Sad

In offlinemode you can only connect to cracked servers that's why you get steam validation rejected

In onlinemode you need a valid hl1 account and can only play on non-secure servers.

How about using the same old steam-down I use since like a year if you have an hl1 account? It work with lot less hassle, no crack shit, automatic updates and all.... emporio did a great job for those who can't afford hl1 at 10$ but steam-down still work #1 Razz
