Indeed. Rain looks like in old FIFAs + there is no wind effect at all. I liked FIFA 13 a lot but this 14 looks just boring.

Yeah the second goal looked very unnatural.

There is also one finesse shot outside the box from airjapes (I think Balotelli), that hits the bar... The exact same situation there, goalkeeper is stuck in no man's land and does not know how to react.

only improvement seems the shooting mechanic. Everything else seems the same at first glance.

Some really exciting news with this last video, the Aguero goal was absolutely amazing.

I didn't like the keepers again, way too many rebounds.

What's up guys, I'm "TheDutchTank" and I'm a reviewer for PSV Eindhoven and NEC Nijmegen in FIFA. This means I watch those teams regularly, PSV is my favorite team, which makes it easiest to rate players on how they are.

So I'll explain to you all how FIFA ratings are what they are, and that FIFA really isn't biased against, for instance, Messi or Ronaldo.

This is how it works: There are two kind of people involved in changing the ratings of players; Editors and Reviewers.

I'll explain you who they are and what they do.

A reviewer is most of the time a fan of the team they review, but they don't have to be. We can only see the ratings of the teams we rate (In my instance PSV and NEC) and have no acces to other ratings. Neither can we change a rating. What we do is give feedback on a player. We watched the match of the maybe first or second game of a youth product for instance. We think, wow he is extremely fast and he outrun Walcott! This is what our next goal is: We will look at the sprintspeed the player has at that moment. If it's really low, we will enter a feedback going something like this:

"Hey, I recently saw the match against Team1 and noticed how quick Player1 actually is, I saw him outpace Walcott twice and although he may not actually be faster than Walcott over all, he's really higher than a 60 sprintspeed. I'd suggest a 55->80 upgrade on his sprintspreed. Here's the footage of him outpacing Walcott twice: insert youtube link

Here's where the editor comes in. He is the one looking at the feedback, and he's most of the time a fan of a non-rival team (Lets say Heereveen for PSV) but not the same team. He will look if the feedback makes sense, if he agrees, and if its reasonable to change something that big. He then either tells the reviewer they dont agree, or they change it like the feedback wanted.

This is how players are rated, and how we look at their apperance. I'm open to any questions ofcourse.

Edit: I forgot to mention being a reviewer doesn't pay anything. Editor does.

Here's a little something about the player ratings.

These videos are so annoying - how much are the tubers being paid by EA?

They only have good things to say about a game that hasn't evolved at all.

EA only worked on the ignite engine version.

Its the same as with previous generation-switches.

Its horrible.

Like to see you implement rain, when you had to implement other things as well Rolling Eyes Laughing

Rain was one of my most important todo tasks back when I worked a little on my flight sim after I finished my project. Then work and life happened and no rain. Crying or Very sad Shame, because I had some cute ideas how to make local rain (below clouds).

See? Laughing
Would be cool to break through rainclouds and reach sunny regions in the sky Very Happy

Damn i gotta say iam really impressed, did a few matches and theres so many improvements, i expected fifa 13 with updated rosters, but the gameplay feeling is much improved, alot of new animations, players just move more naturally and realistic, and passing and shooting is great, even graphics wise i spot improvements, i think the level of detail is better os player models even from gameplay perspective, they seem more detailed than in fifa 13 and i used LOD mod to improve it on that game. First impressions are really good.

Well played a couple of matches and watched a third played by the AI and I have to say, the gameplay seems to be about the same as ever. Only thing I might have noticed that I didn't before was the well-implemented physicality when some player runs into a rival fighting for the ball. Other than that, same old same old. I guess at least they might have finally got the "collision" system fixed?

Graphics wise I have to admit they improved this one thing, the lighting. I remember I found the lighting in FIFA 13 to be so unrealistic and it seems EA Sports noticed it themselves and got it improved, looks really nice now, though it can still get some work done on it. Apart from that, graphics don't seem to have improved and players still look kinda cartoonish. Also, I didn't see those awesome animations some people like to point out. In this year we are now, player animations shouldn't be that jerky in a football game, but oh well, maybe I'm too demanding Laughing

Anyway, not impressed whatsoever, and surely I won't be buying this. But I don't think I won't be buying PES this year either. I think it will have a much more compelling and varied gameplay and of course those gorgeous graphics but I also think it will be plagued with bugs and some missing features that we should find included in PES 2015 probably, which should be a polished version of PES 2014. Also no PC demo is outrageous and punishable I will still iso demo it, of course!
