I have some difficulties to put them in order from best to worse, so here is a random list:

- The Witcher 2: not as captivating and immersive as the original game, but still a more than worthy continuation of Geralt's tales.

- Fallout New Vegas: Fallout 2's true sequel, nothing else to add Cool Face

- Dishonored: stealth, style and freedom, a winning cocktail.

- Deus Ex: Human Revolution: I always asked for this.

- BioShock Infinite: streamlined Bioshock experience? Very true. Worse Bioshock experience? Nope, not necessarily, not for me at least.

- Skyrim: enjoyable in its vanilla state, pretty darn great if heavily modded, even gameplay-wise.

- Anno 2070: Anno never disappoints. Actually, it gets better with time.

- STALKER: CoP: Get out of here Stalker, but keep in mind that you will be missed. A lot.

- Batman: Arkham City: Arkham Asylum after a penis enlargement, got bigger in size but lost something in terms of 'authenticity'. Still bloody good.

- The Walking Dead: best interactive movie, ever.

Honorable mentions to Dark Souls after all the mods that unfucked it, Max Payne 3 (much better than I expected), Metro 2033/LL, Amnesia, LA Noire, Portal 2, XCOM:EU, CiV, KoA, Shogun 2, the Raymen, Battlefield 3 for the great multiplayer and many many others, including an incredible amount of "small" indie games that I adored.

As for the failures, I don't even know where to start to be honest. Laughing Razz

I havent still played Skyrim through, it looks so bad out of the box, makes my eyes bleed. Also its pain in the ass to mod properly.

Scratch Head

Well it does take a lot of time. Not as much as Fallout 3 / NV though.

How so? You get Nexus mod downloader and if you don't want to use that you use Steam Workshop. It literally takes 5-10 clicks.

Well first you have to download all the mods, then you have to install them in the right order. Then depends on what kind of mods they are, you might have to make sure you have the right patches (more so for FO3, not much for skyrim).

Don't get me wrong, I don't mean it takes too long, I just mean it still takes time when you could be doing something else. And because of how Skyrim's save system works, you might have to restart game, or do a thorough test before your real playthrough, etc. This all certainly takes more than 5-10 clicks Very Happy

The games I enjoyed playing the last 3 years, even if the games are older...

Multiplayer only (I rarely play singleplayer games):

Live For Speed
Battlefield 2
Battlefield 2 - Forgotten Hope 2
Battlefield 2 - Project Reality
Rainbow Six Vegas 2
GTA IV
ArmA 2
ArmA 3 BETA

Nowadays a lot of (indie) games are turning your pc into a party-game machine (think Nintendo Wii), connect a maximum of 4 gamepads to your pc, connect your pc to a big monitor (or TV), invite some friends and have a fun time Smile
Games I enjoyed playing this way:

Micro Machines V4
Trials Evolution Gold
Bang Bang Racing
Sonic & Sega Racing (& Transformed)
Generally
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

There's even some strategy to it. You start out thinking it's a stupid cookie you have to click, but you end up reading threads on Red vs Golden cookies, when to soft reset, etc Laughing.
I'm falling behind with Final Fantasy..
