Good job either way. When I was fiddling with Blender it was only to create some fucked up units for Forged Alliance Now, few years later I can't even model a fucking wall |
Yeah always had ability to use the tools just always lazy.. just messing with some raised effect paneling stuff, if you had seen the smoothed version before I applied geometry on it to square it back out ud probably of puked

I goto start now the laborious maps for rough paint work and rigging for the animation, I just slung some colour to it just to show it off.

Did you design this yourself or do you have some sort of artwork that you model in 3d?

no pumpy its just me getting my barings with the app and its menu's im a maya user usually and not touched 3dsmax for about 10 years lol.. its a digital tutors course but I added some of my own flair to it as I go to get comfortable with max's tools. I have not even got to mess with mental ray in max yet, will probably sling Vray in when I leech it.
For the max file of it so far can grab it here. Its modeling done from planes with an image on them for reference. top/side/front

edit: if you right click anywhere in space and choose hide unselected you will then be able to see the imageplanes. I hid them last screenshot for the.. errr screenshot.
p.s yeah texturing is the weak spot Will be working on that area though, slinging shapes together is straightforward to a point, artistic skill with painting and filters is another thing altogether..

why did you start a first 3d model at work.. for work? then get told no dont no more heheh.
Nice head Mr C, btw looks like a solid base mesh, cant use blender though it feels to me like the whole menu area is held together with packing tape and is about to fall apart.
