Just launched yesteday, do you think it will replace other web-based sharing platforms eventually becoming the best one?

Try https://mega.co.nz instead (notice the "https").
Creating an account works fine, but my uploads don't want to start. they are just "pending" forever.

It's now fully up and running.

My question is: do you think it will gradually be used to share warez stuff, just like Rapidshare or uploaded.to?

Very well actually, incredibly fast with no limits of any kind that I can tell. I prefer Putlocker though, since MEGA has this incredibly annoying "temporary download" thing where it forces the download to TEMP folder before asking you where to save the files. That and PL maxes my download speed, MEGA doesn't.

Pretty fast, though I hardly ever see any Mega links.

For some reason, slow ass services like Rapidgator and Uploaded are more popular Confused

Putlocker and Hugefiles seem to be the fastest hosts that are used with any frequency.

That's because people get paid for spamming RG and UL links. Something like a 1000 downloads is 0.10c.

those are slow if you get them to work in the first place, really useless if you're not a premium.

Yeah, both RG and UL are absolutely terrible hosts for "free users" whereas PL is anything but slow - it's incredible, absolutely runs my 100Mbit line at maximum or as close to it as possible and doesn't cost a penny nor come with any restrictions of any kind. It even supports resume.

+1 for Putlocker, it's a lifesaver for my puny e-penis since not only everyone is using it these days, but it also has no limits whatsoever *sploosh* Razz

BU/180/MEGA are fast too, but nothing can beat PL grinhurt (not to mention RG and UL, those ones are blocked in Italy Laughing)

/inb4 they block it as well Okay

Can't you use OpenDNS to avoid that bullshit ?

Yep! I could and I definitely will once even the good ones get blocked as well xD. Fortunately RG and UL are pretty useless anyway for free users. Razz

Oh well, I knew it wouldn't last long Sad Putlocker just changed everything .. I went to the site to grab a couple of files and was greeted with this huge red banner saying;

Quote:

We've detected that you're using AdBlock or some other adblocking software. Your wait time has been increased. Please disable AdBlock for this website to avoid delays.

The "continue as free user" button is now greyed out and unclickable. I disabled ABP for Putlocker.com and the banner is still there and I can't download anything at all, along with the oh-so-wonderful side effect of now getting popups when I click the page after each refresh/load Facepalm

You could just use jDownloader and queue up all the files you want (handy on Monday morning for the influx of TV episodes). I don't think I've ever gone to the Putlocker site at all.

Does JD even support PL? IDM supports the downloads once they START (it's great) but if you just feed the PL URLs into the queue, all you get are HTM downloads. I hadn't tried with JD because of that. Still, if they have started blocking and vastly increasing the wait times, I'll just find another site.. BU still works though it's about 4-5x slower at BEST Sad

Yep, works perfectly. Downloads start immediately, no waiting and the files are all correct at the end.

I can confirm that. jDownloader might be slow as hell and use the evil Java, but it's really great when it comes to this stuff. I use it on daily basis for pretty much everything 'downloading-related' , even Youtube videos. Razz

Just tried it earlier, I initially got the "error: plugin out of date" shit trying to connect to Putlocker, but after restarting JD it worked fine. Thanks cirithungol! Sucks that PL finally "fixed" their site, wait times and ads and shit, but oh well.. at least JD works Smile
