If it's CryEngine 3 then they don't have to create "mod tools" - just leave the assets open for modding within CryEngine, no? I'm not sure how it works in CE so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Smile

That early access thingy sounds so alpha-ish that I don't even know if I'll bother with the Yarr version. Hell, there's not even a m&kb implementation. :/

I'm pretty confident that the game will be good gameplay-wise, but right now they've got an uber-straight port and they're basically looking for ideas and ways to actually make the PC version playable since they have no clue. Expect a complete mess Razz

Whats wrong with that? I mean the 360 version is pretty good as it is (I am not talking about its look of course) so if the PC version is exactly the same thats more than enough for me to finish the game and enjoy it. What other features do you expect for the PC version Confused

This. I have a 360 controller and am eager to play the game. No problem paying now to help it be the best version. Hell, I did that with Brutal Legend and that was supposed to be finished.

Q: Why is the game full price?

A: The game itself, in terms of content, is completely finished. Our Steam players are getting the first three patches (known as Title Updates to Xbox players) rolled right in from the get go. If you want to play with a controller, you are getting a fully finished game and we think it's worth the twenty dollars. If you want to play with the finished keyboard interface, please wait until the finished version launches.

Exactly what I thought. Awesome!

Sounds good. And as you don't really need to aim, at least didn't saw where it really was needed in the gameplay vid, i can live with it.
But still, there is no release date for the full version or?

edit:
Some websites wrote, Early Access is now live on Steam for this.
But i can't find the game on there wtf Surprised

No mouse/keyboard support at early access stage?

Are You Serious

Mind Is Full Of Fuck

That doesn't bode well for the outlook of this. At least every other FPS that I know of released at early access stage had that support.

Oh and I find this funny too:

“This process is not for everyone,” warns Undead Labs community director Sanya Weathers in her announcement post. “Casual players, the easily frustrated, and the short of time should NOT get the Early Access version.” For one thing, the beta will launch without keyboard support, meaning players will need an Xbox 360 pad. “You all deserve the best, so if you’re not into giving feedback, just wait a few months and play the final version after we make it great.”

So what you're saying is don't buy this. lol

They said that K+M support will be added in following weeks. As for the quote i totally understand that - for them and ven for us is better to have feedback giving players in Early access to have the best possible PC port than bunch of dickheads who plays the game and rage that its broken

Yeah, I'm with prudislav on this; I'm glad developers using Early Access are up front about potential issues and forewarning potential buyers that this is VERY early and issues may arise, so please don't purchase unless you're willing to be part of the process. I've seen some games released on Early Access that have had buyers raging and screaming about how "broken" the game is >_<

Yup, better than those with final versions having even worse performance than the early access games on steam.

At least with these you know what you are getting into.

From the announcement it seems to be the full version from the X360 build with the latest "title update" (patch) already applied and only lacking keyboard+mouse control and some other refinements like PC optimizations and the like.
(It's a direct port but it's the full game and now they are doing the PC specifics with the help of the early-access release and the Steam community feedback or how to say.)

hopefully the PC version will soon get rid (whether officially or through modding) of the soap controls from the 360 version.
