by the looks of the trailer this isnt going to be the painkiller/serious sam reskin it looked like it was gonna be, have I written off this gamer too soon and is it actually decent/awesome now :O?

Still looks just like a Painkiller/Hard Reset skin to me, though I do hope it's enjoyable I'm just not seeing "Shadow Warrior" in it. Not yet at least Smile

Isn't it a good thing though? I've just watched "wtf is shadow warrior" and I believe it's actually a good thing they didn't just make a remake like recent "rise of the triad".

It looks and plays better then SW ,at least judging by TotalBiscuit's video preview, especially in regard to actual katana moves/gameplay Wink The original sadly had little to nothing to do with this prominent samurai weapon , it was mostly guns guns and guns and here I actually want to cut enemies with katana because it plays and looks cool Cool

Yeah the action looks better than the original, but people are disappointed at the level design (the original had complex levels like Duke Nukem 3D). They also don't like Lo Wang's more politically correct attitude.

I've got a -10% coupon for this on Steam, no idea from where, just appeared in my inventory. Is anybody interested in it? I would love to use it myself, but I don't have the money / I can't buy it anyway.

Interesting, wonder how many different sword customizations there are, though I guess we'll know once it's cracked and all of them become unlocked. Razz
(There's one for GoG - which I guess is not using Steam whatsoever - and then there's one for Gamersgate and probably other digital retailers and now there's this thing from Saints Row to those whom own SR4 on Steam.)

EDIT: I don't really like the weapon though, would have preferred the energy sword from SR4 instead but this could perhaps be fun to try too, but how do you cut with it...

You're not alone. Razz I too am quite disappointed so far, not the faithful reimagining that I was expecting, but oh well. Better than nothing! At least I hope it's fun (and I think it will be)
