You could try emulating a controller using x360ce? I don't know how, but I know it's possible since that's what people are using for State of Decay.

Ofc this library sharing is not as easy as thought. To authorize a PC, have to log in to your Steam account on that PC. And then the guy who you share library with, must have the game files on his HDD... So seems no long-distance friends sharing each other games.
