I have a slight problem:
I my PC won't power up just by pressing the power button. The odd part is the problem only appears in the evening - around the time when I get back from work.
When I power it up in the morning for news, weather etc - it works just fine.
I have to switch off the PSU and unplug the power cord and redo them both to get my rig running.
Is it PSU? Why is it appearing only PM ?
I don't have a spare PSU to test my current unit since I'd have to take it for couple of days for testing.

Is it hooked up to some energy saving socket or something? :X
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

No, it's plugged into UPS and everything else hooked to it works. It's not fully plugged PSU, so I don't think it's a PSU problem.
Even the same thing without PSU too.

Either MB or PSU. It's hard to tell for certain without replacing either, and it sucks.
Mine started having a similar problem. It'll randomly decide not to power up when I hit the button, and if I quick flip the PSU switch it'll power up and act like nothing was wrong. My guess is the MB is the problem, but it could just as easily be the PSU.

Yeah, it should be something like this:
- PC powered off = Capacitors go empty
- When you replug it to the wall outlet, it "refills" the capacitors again and thus it boots
I noticed a similiar then when some derp guy had put a too small automatic fuse to my living room and everytime you had more than just the PC on it would blow when I plugged my PC to the wall outlet lol
So yeah, this is just my opinion/hunch but it should definitely be something like that.

i doubt that it affects the mobo+cpu.The box i made for my GF had the same issues you described,i feared that i had to waste my last money on new everything but it was just the PSU.
