Check the images again. It has shoulder buttons too.

Would you be so kind to provide direct link to the particular image? I have web-filter that actually blocks all these images from steampowered (not gonna bother to tweak it just for that).

Thing is, to us keyboard/mouse is shockingly intuitive. To other people, though... I'm not even talking about console players, but just your average Joe. My girlfriend has small hands/short fingers - you think she can reach and intuitively press 3, 4, 5 keys whilst using a high sensitivity mouse? Hardly. Razz

I give Valve credit for at least trying something different, Can't replace keyboard and mouse if you don't try something other than keyboard and mouse. Same goes for control stick controllers. This isn't a consoles controller so there will always be choice in which you want to use.

It's different for the sake of being different. To try and take a bite of Microsoft and Sony. They lost before they even started, just like all the Razer crap and so on. Console gamers don't care and PC gamers will see it for the shit it is once they get their hands on it and the novelty weats off.

I don't think this will succeed (or fail), you are absolutely convinced it will fail. The difference should be pretty obvious.

Then so be it to be honest. If this is how it turns out we are where we once were except we at least know what we do and do not like about that particular control scheme. They are not forcing us in to having/using it ala xboners kinect. I first saw it and thought what the fuck and I still kind of think that but its interesting to see how this will unfold in the future and it may lead to a different better controller that combines the positives of this with the positives of sticks.

The problem is not the hardware itself. Crazy hardware has existed always. The problem is, if it does succeed, and you have games "optimized" for a shit like this, everyone suffers. I mean, look at console shooters. How many of them feel awkward on mouse? Because they are optimized for controllers and idiot publisher won't invest more cash to optimize it for mouse as well. Durrsole wants to think that this will revolutionize gaming and bring all big publishers to the PC, and it's a good thing. But what does it matter what platform the games are primarily targeted at, if the gameplay itself is still bad? Remember, consoles are not the issue, the target audience of the games is.

Mutliplatform releases are already optimized for the controllers of MSony so what would the difference be again? 0.

Furthermore if developers DO get to optimize for it instead of MSony's controllers (why would that happen??? Confused ), since it's superior to them, it's another win anyway.

well everything for the most part will be console centric pretty much regardless of the steambox/controller so I don't think a game will be only designed with it in mind since it needs to appeal first to the 150+ million console owners.

Okay, it is hard to see the details but apparently it has 4 side triggers. And some bright head put crouch ON THE DAMN CENTER OF THE PAD instead of putting it on the one of the triggers, L2 or R2.

Really.
And the guy probably got paid shitloads of bucks for that.
