I didn't really get any stuttering, but maxed out (1080p, 4xMSAA, no PPAA, everything on Ultra, HBAO) I wasn't getting 60 FPS by a long shot. High 40s on average.
And full CPU usage on all 4 cores (i5-760 at 4.2 GHz).
It looks much better than BF3, anyone who says otherwise has got shit in their yes. Apart from the blue tint being gone, the lighting's much improved, the weather and particle effects are insane (I'm guessing that is also where the CPU usage comes from), textures are of proper quality like before.
I don't agree with Areius though, it doesn't feel like BF3 (yet). Sprinting for example is no longer instant, but you have to build your speed up. In fact, the whole movement feels a lot heavier. The weapons handle very differently as well.
Also, bonus points for:
- Having SSAA as a percentage scaler
- FoV slider goes up to 120
- Keeping things like raw mouse input
And for whoever said you can't turn FXAA off: yes you can. It's still there in the video options, just like it was in BF3.
Back to work it is, see you all tonight

i get good fps "on paper" with medium (60-90) but it doesn't feel like it, because it keeps dipping in the 1 digits. Not for long, only for an instant, but that is enough to give it a real sluggish feel.
Oh and i would really like to be able to change stuff without having to restart the game each time (1 setting = 1 restart lol).

The battlepacks seem quite retarded tho.
Are there going to be micros-transactions to get a hold of them?
Cause having random unlocks (besides the standard ones) is fucking stupid.

The performance is up and down, it's really odd tbh.
One match it can be somewhat smooth and another a fucking lagfest-

Only played about 10 minutes, and I get the same FPS issues. It's high and smooth at times, other times it dips and feels awful.
Can't say I'm super impressed so far, I'll have to play more. The map didn't seem very interesting

Even if the performance isn't the best I've had a blast with it.
Great matches guys, but now I have to do some real life stuff... sux

Also anyone else have trouble leaping over things? Takes me 2-3 tries more often than not. The contextual leaning works great on the other hand

Anything else worth mentioning? Because this could've been implemented easily in BF3

Download again and update video card drivers worked for a mate of me. | Except if we are talking about AMD's x32 driver for the x64 beta
(which is nearly/or completely useless for a x64 exe, right? )

That would've been one gigantic patch. An engine upgrade like this would've required them to recompile every map at the very least, but to really make it worth it redo them all to use the new things.
The way the movement and weapons handle also makes it a different game - no developer in the world will ever make such changes in a patch. Mind you, I played for 5 minutes and it didn't feel like BF3 at all; had that been a patch for BF3, that would've alienated a large portion of the playerbase. Do it in a new game and they'll be fine with it, that's how us silly humans work.
It's getting tiring to see people constantly regurgitate the same horsecrap every single time though. BF1942, 2 and 2142 did not receive any updates of the magnitude that some people want for BF3. So why the fuck are you whining about it now, but apparently all was fine and dandy with the previous games?
And those games got expansions just the same; expansions that changed less than BF3's expansions did, I might add.
Don't like it? Then at least throw some real arguments at it, because it's not new. Every fucking iteration of BF has had the same shit.

Battlepacks you get from leveling as well. Look at Battlelog, I think the things in packs are rare stuff, like if you at dog tags there's a new section for battlepack tags
Leaderboards look awesome too.
After 45 minutes of play the game is growing on me. The gunplay seems a definite improvement.
