it's a wonder why there's not more people modding the game.

people over at bear's pit should have done something with it

Yeah but remember JA2 didnt get its first mod until years later. And it never had any official modding tools released, ever. So I am just hoping it is a matter of time for a community to spring up around modding this one as well.

I just saw new screens of Jagged Alliance 3 and it sure is looking a lot like silent storm. Its about time characters were able to wear helmets and gear as far as seeing it on the character in the 3d world in the jagged alliance series.Cant wait for it.

If Silent Storm was made in 2003 I have to say it was a little ahead of it's time, maybe that's why it wasn't as big as it should have been. Looking though some of the old forum posts they where having frame rate/graphic problems something we don't suffer with these days with SS.
You have me really looking forward to this Jagged allience3

Both silent storm and sentinels were excellent games and I bought them both even though they all used the stupid starforce protection. ^_^

Hammer & Sickle was not as fun. Sad

I think the saddest thing is noticing that there was a JA3 under development using SS engine and it never happened ㅠㅠ

There were many rumors about titles with the SS engine, also a new ufo clone but sadly none came to life Mad I finished both main titles (SS and SSS) several times. H&S wasn´t my thing. JA with the SS engine would be a killer but I fear the engine is just to old to hope for another usage. unfortunately. i´m curious who got the rights for SS after the fall of jowood Confused

I think that last news about JA3 on SS engine was that community started to whine about gfx and they pulled it back to enchance graphics.

Very Happy

Well, I played this game several times ten years ago.
But I didn't remember how cool this game was :

- crew management
- characters progression and perks RPG style
- shit tons of weapons
- ragdoll physics
- very nice designed and destructible environments
- localized wounds, bleeding, trauma, ...
- pretty nice background story

Voice acting (in french at least) is hilarious.

I can't believe I played this game around 6 hours straight again Surprised

This game to this very day has the best grenade throwing mechanics.
I can't believe that no one in a turn based game can do it right again.
