I have to say that spotting is more frequent here then in BF3. I always have tons of orange icons on the map.

They appear on the map because they're shooting without a silencer and since nobody has a silencer.. there.. reason why everyone's on the map. At least thats how i think it works

Sad thing is, the average "sniper" is so terrible, that even several of them taking shots at you at the same time isn't much of a threat.

I've had 4-5 of them target me at once, all I did was dance around while they missed every single shot and I managed to kill one of them from far away, and wound the rest, with my pimped out AK5C.

I don't play many shooters these days, and when I do it's usualyl for around half an hour, I'm rusty, my aim and reflexes are way off, and still I'm more accurate than these morons. Laughing

Well, my first test was kinda disappointing. CPU doesn't constantly go to 100% load flat like it used to - it actually drops off by a few percent often enough, but it didn't really fix my performance that much.

Even though I see better stuff from the graph more often, I still get around 60% GPU load with 40 -50 FPS in many places. When comparing it with my previous tests in specific locations, performance hasn't changed at all, actually Smile

Performance is still terrible, 38fps on High.

i5-2500k @ 4Ghz
GTX570 x2

And I have a "lovely" issue that on every second death, the screen will go white and then the game will drop me with the message "Disconnected from the server due to timeout" YAY. I also see the typical BF3 style "you can unload a clip into the enemy, hit indicators flashing like Christmas lights, without them dying yet they turn around and two-shot you" Egh, I'll pass.

Yeah, that hit detection thing still happens, and yesterday it was especially bad, but, it doesn't happen as often as it does in BF3(at least in my experience) so it's not all bad. Laughing

Yay, managed to get my performance in order.
Seems that my precious Borderless Window mode has quite a negative effect on performance now Sad
Never had the issue on other games, but here I now gain 10-15 FPS by switching to standard Fullscreen mode. Shame, I was just beginning to enjoy it.

Also VSync now works via the 60->45->30 way, so had to disable that too. It didn't work like that before the patch - could have VSynced 50-55 FPS without it locking down to lower values.

So I have now lost 2 conveniences as a price for a properly performing game, damn you DICE! Crying or Very sad

That's strange MM, it didn't do that for me. I have vsync enabled and I was running at random framerates, average being 38fps. I didn't have the double-buffering "step" framerates. Could be a 6-series/79x0 thing?

I was forcing VSync with RadeonPro, like I did with all my games. It worked fine before the patch, but I am going to give the in-game VSync a try now and see what happens. It's possible something got changed.
Thanks for the heads-up Smile

@Aeon

Aye, at least there was no stutter this time but even if I could deal with the hit-indicator thing, there's no way I'm playing on "LOW" just to break 50fps Sad

@MinderMast

No probs, hopefully it works for you because there's nothing more infuriating than the 60>45>30>45>60 thing.

According to repi from DICE the patch addressed "serious contention between our game threads and graphics driver threads", so I guess CPU usage optimizations are yet to come. They were focused on fixing the crazy stuttering related to the video drivers, so maybe now they can work on the gpu bottlenecking resulting from the high cpu usage and gain us quite a few FPS Smile
