I had that happen once where we were both facing each other and the other guy knifed me but it registered as a back knife (i.e. the animation that played showed him being behind me) and obviously no counter knife came up.
I honestly love the knife system. If you snuckup on someone, you should be free to knife or shoot. But counterknifing really prevents those annoying panic-knife moments, where you are spraying someone with bullets but they "suck" you in, and knife you. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight. I remember those black ops gungame days. I'd get to the double knives and just run around stabbing people to set them back. Fun times, but oh-so annoying when someone does that to you.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

Haha it could be me? I died so many times for stupid reasons today
I still haven't figured out how to properly play Obliteration since it's too hectic for my sloth-like play style, but it has a huge potential in my opinion. I'm liking it more than rush . It's obviously something that doesn't really work for the lone wolves though, a team of sexy minions is strictly required, and there are A LOT of wtf moments...but it's the beauty of it.
As for the performance, it was surprisingly pretty decent today after the patches, ~50+fps/high details/1080p with my not-so-epic 570, so I'd say Dice did their homework
I still have some problems though, and especially

That would explain a good number of issues some people are reporting. But doesn't that also sound like a memory leak? If that's the case, it's something the devs can fix I guess. For me, i only experience swapping when cranking up the supersampling above 100%. Otherwise, not even with 4X MSAA and everything on Ultra do I experience swapping (2GB VRAM, 1080p). |
^this!
After 2-3 consecutive matches I always start having framerate drops and even the average framerate gets lower (-5/10fps) for no reason. Hope they're aware of this.

BF4 takes 2-3x longer to load and even to quit than BF3 for me so I would definitely try it on SSD if I had the room

the nvidia beta drivers for bf4 are pure crap, game works just fine with latest stable, with beta there are glowing textures everywhere

Holy shit, cheaters are coming out of the woodwork now that BF4 is on it's way...
Just in a week I've encountered more cheaters than I have in two years.
Err, forgot to mention that this is supposed to be in the BF3 thread. >.<

I've paid the deposit of £99 at Overclockers after I'd spoken to a guy there. Asking how much the card was going to be on release day, he could not say as he's under NDA. So we played a game of guess the amount. Started at £600 - No. £550 - No. £500 - Close. Below £500 - Just. And that's how it went. He then routed out a private email stating AMD are targeting just under the GTX780 price range. With the copy of Battlefield 4 thrown in, I grabbed one. So now I'm selling my GTX680 once it's arrived.
Yes it's a lot of money but I put hundreds of hours into BF3 so I'll be getting my moneys worth ! |
Does that include the deposit?
500£ is quite a bit of money and adding another 99 to it.

You pay your £99 deposit then once the card has been released for say £500, You'll get the £99 knocked off the card making it £401 to pay.
I did ask on the phone if the card is going to be really daft money once it's come out, say £600+ then am I in my right to cancel the entire transaction and get a full refund. Yes was the answer but it's not £600+ he said. I then said as long as it's not more than £500 I'll take one. If it is more than £500 and he's just trying to get a sale out of me, I'll just get a refund. I doubt very much he is as I know the shop very well and they've never in all the years I've shopped there talked crap.

Aeon's videos have always that perfect combination between music and images, it is truly impressive I even became a Redditor for that!
