White house down 4/10 I really don't get this director (emmerich). His movies switch in tone from comedy to dead serious between scenes. It's weird. same feeling I had with the movie 2012. The movie presents itself as serious, but there are so many flaws and extreme cliches (huge splosion, tatum hides 5 feet behind a cleaner cart. Hm.). Not saying that it should be realistic, but it almost seems to be parody. Except in the next scene, it's back to all default seriousness. It just does not give me the opportunity to enjoy it.

The conjuring 4/10 super boring haunted house flick. Reminded me of paranormal activity a lot, enjoyed that one more. Totally regret watching it.

Mud 7.5/10 coming of age drama, well done. Michael shannon is very busy lately. Also enjoyed that movie he's in where he's preparing for a storm.
 Spoiler:

recommended. Edit: other movie is Take Shelter and is by the same director, Jeff Nichols. Also recommended if you like Mud. I'd give that about the same score.

Star trek into darkness 6.5/10 nice science fiction, simple story, nice cgi. Enjoyed it. Almost turned it off in the first 10 minutes as it starts out with very generic pewpew.

The Conjuring
6/10
Now I know again why I usually never watch horror movies. Last one I really liked was The Cabin in the Woods.

Ok so I just started watching White House down... No, not quite ready yet to write it off or anything, but this has to be the worst movie president ever. Did he just demand that his heel copter deviate from their flight path AND I pretty sure theirs some laws about minimum flying height "cuz' I'm the leader of the free world, bitch" ?!??!

And did I hear him, during a televised speech, say "could'yew" in his gangsta slang, instead of could you?

WORST MOVIE PRESIDENT EVER., holy fuck... And I'm only lik 10 minutes in

That being said, I did like how Tatum threatened spykez with a gun Razz

Gravity in 3D 9/10

very simple but the visuals and the sense of dread and loneliness! wow... and it seems like it could possibly be actually possible to happen. Sandra is not someone I can take seriously though nor Mr fancy pants...
I need to find an IMAX that shows it.

Oookay, done.

White House down.

Meh. 5/10 for just being a generic action film with a few fun moments in it, but that bitch kid robbed me of my 'splosion Sad

I'd say OHF was better... It was made better, and the bad guys actually felt menacing and I wanted Sparta to win and the bad guys to die. In this, I just didn't give a shit. I like my films to have villains I hate and want to see killed, but it's hard to really hate on the bad people who's "evil plan" is to attack someone completely different than the good guys tied up in the films events... There's no threat, there's no anger, so all that's left is indifference.

Also, fox was the worst president ever. Tatum wasn't bad at least.

All in all, quite disappointing for an emmerich film... The guys lost his touch to make something so bland... AND TO ROB ME OF MY FUCKING WHITEHOUSE EXPLOSION, seriously, wtf Sad

I wasnt saying she didnt have anything done. I said i dont think she looks plasticky. Low on botox use.

And the fact that they use a 30 year old picture with a new one sort of goes towards my point

In the heat she had almost no facial movement. You could totally see the botox effect on her forehead...
