My fighting is just like in the video Sabin posted in the previous page.
You guys might be talking about the chain mechanism though and the way it's delayed a bit between hits.

It pauses the entire game or just your character?

Fun game, there is the odd jitter in places especially in character combat but no way as bad as people have been making out with the reloaded crack.
There is some low performance issues in the town and what I find stupid is some parts of the game you can't walk off! For example, you walk up a slope and want to jump off a small ledge, nope wont let you or you want to walk down the other side of the bodies, nope wont let you. Stupid budget choices and also the game is VERY brown in the town and lacks good lighting
I'm using the Ali crack

There is an ALI213 crack fix on WBB
Fixes combat framerate drop and unlock 3 DLC (Weapons)
Previous saves will be deleted
I have tried the fix on Reloaded version and it works better...no stop and go as before

So... How is this game? Story and dialogue wise? Combat didn't seem too interesting, but that won't keep me from playing if the rest is good.

I realise I'll get shot for saying this but I like this game, it reminds me of the 1st Witcher.
No the graphics aren't as good as witcher 1 & like witcher 1 the fighting can be clunky, I've been using reloaded crack I'll try the other one & if it is better I will buy this game because the story & associated quests are great.
Decisions actually mean something and it's been a while since I've played a game where one of the decisions is whether I sling the old sausage up me sister's alley!
SPOILER ALERT -
I betcha it turns out she isn't really my si maybe I'm wrong but the censors in a country west of where I'm sitting, plus a few others where bible bashing bastards have too much say, will come down on demonicon like a mob of rock spiders on a four y.o. at a pederast convention, if the story does include a young bloke slipping it to his virgin sis.
There are no black & white calls in demonicon, Those games where deciding whether you are gonna be a goodie or a bad egg by a simple A or B button press are kinda mundane, with demonicon (well thus far) you can't really be sure of all the consequences of a decision being good or bad. In fact it is hard to judge the effects at all until after you make a call. Just like out here in the world.
Well obviously not that complex but at least the game makers are having a good go at that.
The voice acting isn't AAA but its not to bad either certainly not the complete turn off that is the case with many other under-funded RPG's.
So if the fighting system is more respinsive than I have found it is with the RLD crack I'm gonna give the game developers some of my easy come, easy go cash.

Worldsfactory- 69/100
A decent start for the first game in the Dark Eye series that offers an introduction to a potentially interesting fantasy universe. Unfortunately, sluggish combat, dull characters, and generally poor design choices make it a fairly forgettable experience.
GamingBolt -7/10
A deep and rich storyline coupled by immersive visuals and player choice are where the game shines the most. Although animations aren’t the liveliest of sort it’s not a game breaking bug nor does it pull you from the immersion
StrategyInformer - 6/10
Despite this though, and as much as I hate to say it, Demonicon is a bit of a sub-par release. Maybe hardcore Dark Eye fans will appreciate the lore and its place in the universe, but on its own it’s not a fantastic story, and it’s not a well-designed game either. It’s all functional, but in a fairly lazy kind of way.
HookedGamers - 7/10
With Demonicon being far from flawless, I found myself wondering whether or not I enjoyed Demonicon enough to give it a positive recommendation. Honestly, I did. For every spinning boss, for every limitation in skills and character improvement and for every unblinking pair of eyes I looked at, I enjoyed my time with the game. Despite its issues, The Dark Eye: Demonicon remains a fun adventure that, while lacking polish, is an enjoyable journey through The Dark Eye setting.
Softpedia - 8.5/10
The choices you make can influence the world around. It can shake the entire world of a small community or save the life of a certain individual. This is all you will get because Demonicon, as mentioned earlier, is not about moral choice.
There’s no good or evil in Demonicon and you won’t be rewarded if you take a certain path that might sound closer to good. But the choices you make will tell another story, you can be the savior of a high-profile citizen and nemesis of an entire community at the same time.
I’m certain Dark Eye fans will devour Demonicon in just a few days even though it promises 25 hours of gameplay, if you only follow the main quest.

=============
With RELOADEDs crack, the game is lagging/stuttering everytime you successfully hit an enemy and the hit is added to the "Chain of Blows". |

Finally it's all clear now
Sounds like the game is another of those rough gems that look average at first but turn out to be very interesting (plus the more I get older the more I can tolerate the lack of polish).

game is good, has atmosphere but has one big minus - no manual saving; for instance in the town you walk around for an hour and then steal something by mistake, guards attack and you are fucked, have to replay the whole hour again

xExtreme wrote: | Game is fun, spent like 2/3h in so far, not the best RPG out there but works, the skill tree and magic ones are a bit 'tarded. Gave me some Gothic 2 feels on some quests and in some way the movement combat is kinda similar, story wise...well got me interested when he did that thing with his sister "Well, no one is looking" and now that witch got her
Anyway worth a playthrough, just don't expect to much. | Game has wincest?

How much RPG is this RPG? Yeah strange question, but everything these days gets the RPG tag.
