Im actually enjoying the campaign. It's campy, and MERICA fuck yeah type shit, but it is much much much better than bf3 which I never finished. The only problem is Im getting random fps drops in sp. One second it's 120 next it's less than 60 and back up again. Also if it drops from 120 to say 80 it still stutters. Tried v-sync to maybe limit it to 60 fps but it went below 40 somehow.

But the game is just gorgeous, even on medium.

Digital foundry/IGN etc.

But apparently XB1 has a super duper secret sharpening filter attached to it, and m$ fanboys are going like "who cares bout jaggies bro, look at dat sharpening filter... oops i mean higher res textures!".

I'm not keeping track of the console war but apparently the XBone is the weaker machine but it costs more? Laughing

Is it because of the Kinect bullshit that no one really gives a fuck about?

Oh well, weaker or not it's going to have the most amazing mind blowing games ever, like Gears of War 4 and Halo 5! lol wut

Oh well, see you on Thursday maybe (and got another mail about preloading BF 4 Premium and still not charged, probably happens once I install the game)

Confused

Quote:
Battlefield 4's performance is almost perfectly handled in campaign mode, with the avoidance of full 1080p allowing both PS4 and Xbox One to deliver smooth 60fps playback with v-sync engaged. Exceptions are few and far between, with drops to 50fps seen in three cut-scenes here, and once down to 30fps during an explosive battle.

it's 60 FPS in both consoles most of the time, the FPS drop almost same time with slightly advange for PS4 in around 2-4 FPS

60fps most of the time? watched that MP video and you get all the time fps dips to 40s when something happens. They should have stayed on locked 30fps on these crappy "next-gen" consoles.

Multiplayer games with up to 64 players run mostly at 60fps on PS4, but the frequency of the drops below is disappointing. We'll have more to say on how each version's multiplayer compares come the final release.

FPS seems good at times, locking on 120. But the fps drops to the 40's every 5 seconds. Making the game feel like its stuttering.
Also GPU usage percentage is not constant at all. Ranging from 99% but dipping to 30's. Usually around 60%.

i7 2600k@5,2 ghz
gtx 780 dual classified.
win 7 64 bit

I have the same situation as this guy, although my config is a bit different( 3770k, 16gb, titan, win 7 64) . Lots of drops to 45-50 fps at 1920x1200 ultra quality.
Some claims that switching to win 8.1 fixes all this shit, but I'll be damned if I do it.

Found one of those hidden weapons.

And the second dogtag.

The game gives you unlimited explosives here so I tested them on the vegetation.

Found this little map glitch too when the trees came down.

This was difficult to capture but walking back and forth here changes the time of day settings in preparation for the construction site scene.

This was something I noticed recently, the shadow draw distance for some objects is extremely short.

I also noticed that the cloth banners are gone from the buildings now, possibly this and the above is related to the AMD 13.11b7 driver and it's optimizations for Battlefield 4, would be unfortunate if so but it's not the first time AMD or Nvidia starts doing over-aggressive tweaks to games to get more performance.
(Or it could be a bug, what would I know.)

To the people having lags while 60 fps, switch to the x86 executable. I played one match now and everything seemed to work fine, still needs a little more testing though but I'm rather positive Smile
