But in all honestly, look at the games that came out when the 360/ps3 first came out, and then look at the quality of the games toward the end of the consoles cycles. They will look significantly better with time as dev figure out how to use all that nice hardware and push the consoles to their limits I have faith in my ps4

There are definitely some big differences, but people are expecting more. Maybe if they could show some comparison shots with vegetation etc it would be more impressive.
You cant expect wonders with the first batch of "nextgen" games, remember how PS3/360 launchtitles looked compared to whats being released today? The devs need some time to understand new architecture etc.

If it was so, you can basicly say Next-Gen for every game on a PC, compared to PS3-360

Just look at real time gameplay of games like inFamous: Second Son, Ryse: Son of Rome, Destiny, Final Fantasy XV, The Division
Even at first glance you can clearly see and understand that this type of graphics cannot be seen on this generation consoles (PS3-360)
While on AC4 comparison you clearly see almost no difference , just a little resolution and texture bump

Same could be said for bioshock infinite then, the difference between ps360 and PC is only textures and resolution, the game is exactly the same otherwise.
Seems to be the very same case with ac4, can't say I'm really surprised.
The difference in bf4 between both versions is more impressive if you ask me but still it s not breath taking.
Again, I like to give this example : when you compare a game like the last of us or beyond two souls vs. a ps2 game, you can clearly this the ps3 as next gen compared to ps2.
When PC had ps2 games just bumped up to 1080p and better textures they were far from looking as good as real next gen games like the last of us.
For now (was the case on x360 early), ps4 seems to have mostly hd versions of ps360 games. Hell even Killzone ps4 doesn't look that good compared to what a ps3 could do with KZ3 for that time IMO.
But I'm still hopeful for really impressive game from Quantic dream or Naughty dog. Infamous ps4 really looks good too and not a ps3 game in hd.
Isn't everything on PC compared to "old-gen" "new-gen"? You guys think these new consoles will suddenly change the playing field completely? I expect a lot of old style games with bigger worlds and sexier graphics, something which was possible on PCs for years.

- Infamous is next-gen...why exactly? Because it only looks about the same as Prototype 1 and 2 did on PC.
- Ryse: what exactly does that do that's so special? It's CryEngine 3 at low to medium settings with a mediocre combat system that holds no candle to the Batman games. In fact, visually the game only barely looks about as good as Crysis 2 on PC - which is poor, certainly for "next-gen".
- Destiny: a pretty version of Rage combined with Borderlands. Nothing we haven't seen on PC yet.
- FF XV:
- The Division: 3rd person shooter that once again, does not do anything we haven't seen before. It just does it with good graphics.
So what *exactly* makes ANY of those games "next-gen". Clearly it cannot be the graphics, since they all basically just bump resolution and textures and that's not enough to call it next-gen according to you.
The only one that has any physics going on is Infamous as well and that is no more or less than what Prototype did.

As far as I know, Ubisoft confirmed that the Aveline Missions are exclusive to Playstation on consoles and PC as well, no Xbox at all and they recently said it's not a timed exclusive either - that the Aveline missions won't be coming to other platforms (PC excluded) in six months.

while I agree on some of your points, like infamous or ryse not doing anything new gameplay wise, I think destiny for example is a pretty fresh game. A serious attempt at a borderlands game (which felt really arcady) with nice graphics and probably vastly superior online features (while you might hate halo because it's a "console derp shooter" it introduced some great online stuff) is new for me. The Division does differentiate itself mainly due to it's online component and vastness. Didn't they say it's open world? Well an open world, squad based online third person shooter is pretty new, isn't it?
While I like AC and will play AC4, since I played all of them, just upping the resolution doesn't awe anyone. Ryse is a new franchise with vastly superior graphics to AC4 on next gen consoles. And it seems to have a decent story (in contrast to crysis1,2,3 imo) and a new setting (set in a rome more grounded in reality than anything I have seen in an action game yet) So even though I don't really like how next gen is used (although I'm guilty of this myself) ryse really feels a lot more "next gen" than ac4. And isn't that what it is all about? Having a game that feels next gen? I'd rather take quantum break in 600p any day instead of Resident Evil 1 in 4K with amazeballs textures...
