Finally getting a proper MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.1.RTM.X64.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT.NFO.

Now I just need some way to activate the thing....

Can I run it for 30 days, do the reset-trick like people did on Win7 or is it key or death?

Can't you just install 8.1 in a shot without win8?...

Yes you can just install 8.1 in one go, use one of the generic keys such as XHQ8N-C3MCJ-RQXB6-WCHYG-C9WKB for 8.1 Pro, this won't activate 8.1 but it will allow you to install, then on install completion, just activate with your Windows 8 legitimate key.

Well that wording sure makes it sound like you can activate 8.1 with KMS.
But, As far as I know, ATM there "currently" is no way to activate 8.1 with KMS without a legit key. (KMS = Key Management Service)

Seems there finally is some kind of activator for 8.1, only activates for a year now but that will do for the moment.

I'm about to.
I DL'ed WINDOWS.8.1.RTM.x64.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT since it mentioned RTM activation.
Burning the iso image now to disc.

Not sure yet if it will work with a GA edition (or work at all), I figured I'd try this method first b4 moving on.

Give me a bit, ive gotta make an image of my pc as it now, so i can roll-back after testing.

Now how to tell if its activated for a day or a year is beyond my knowledge...LOL
But it is activated.
Here is what I did.
1:Disconnected internet (pulled out Ethernet cable)
2: Installed WINDOWS.8.1.RTM.x64.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT using this generic key XHQ8N-C3MCJ-RQXB6-WCHYG-C9WKB (for 8.1 pro x64)
3:Once at desktop I used the Windows_8_1_rtm_activator_pro_enterprise_x64_x86_24_10_2013_Citp and followed instructions to remove old key, install new key and activate, then removed watermark.
4:Rebooted and plugged in Ethernet cable.
5: Chose to activate windows in system properties and was greeted with "congratulations windows is now activated"
6:Installed windows updates making sure I had all GA rollup updates...KB2894179, KB2883200, and KB2894029

So yeah, it works but as I said, I have no clue for how long or how to tell.

I installed windows 8 ones on my laptop and Nvidia Optimus was not working correctly. Switching between onboard video of the chipset to the video card when starting a game.. Now back to win7. I will try it again i think soon.

New laptop: i7-3630QM / 8GB / Nvidia 650M 1GB / 500GB

Used a public KMS server. There are no activators for 8/8.1, just KMS servers. Even the small tools are small KMS services.

I don't feel like installing win 8.1 from scratch.. Can I upgrade my enterprise win 7 64?(BIE release/crack).

What version should I download then and what activation method is viable atm(Im not familiar with activation methods at all, just used BIE crack back then and it worked like a charm)?

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

You can upgrade now. Upgrade, and download the KMSpico tool. It will contact an external server and activate for 180 days. By then, I believe they will crack the KMS server process.

Use the rollup WZT release.
