Perhaps because there are people wo like arcade too?
Im one of those people. I really like simulations (GTR3, LFS, rfactor) but i like arcade racing games too. Especially there are so few good arcade racing games for the pc...
You dont need to have fun with certain games. But there are people out there who will play games like this - and those are not only 10 years old kiddies.. there are grown ups too  |
Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against arcade racing games, I like them too actually...as long as they're well made.  I mean the ones that you can play mindlessy but also require a certain amount of skills and attention, games like Flatout, Gas Guzzlers, Trackmania, Test Drive Unlimited 1, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed etc.
The NFS franchise sadly has become a shadow of itself with all these copy-pasta titles with handling that is completely unrewarding. It's flashy and simply not fun unlike..many years ago. But this just my opinion of course  |

i will play this only because of frostbite . i think the run is a very underrated game , the run story was weak but the graphics were very good .

i agree, the run is worth to play through once just to enjoy all the great looking levels.

yeah well i for one found the run the best nfs since old most wanted. last year nfs sucked but everyone loved it so yeah, opinions.

What exactly was so much fun about it?
You're "driving" around in a refrigerator on ice. TD1 back then was more involved in the actual driving part.
I get that that's your opinion, but it just can't be the "driving" you found fun, as there is practically none of that. You already said the story sucked...so that leaves graphics and QTE

QTEs are fun, of course it's that. Are you one of those old people that like those hard and boring games and hate all the cinematic fun we have these days?! Pfff, go away, you're not a gamer! Also, graphics can be fun too but you wouldn't know...

all i can say is. I wish for a forza like game for pc for ever.
I think it will never come.. Stupid Microsoft.. I would even buy a controller for it.
Forza is by far the best racing game ever.. No other game can compare to forza.

i can't understand why there isn't a pcgame that have almost the same handling as forza games.
The handling in forza games is so real. When turning off all help it's like real driving.
Your constantly struggling to control the car.. I love it.

If there's the derp, there's also Ken Block. It's like a solid mutual relationship by now. You can't really go wrong with that!
At least it's easier to distinguish the good games from the bad ones
