i recently baught the cm690 lite version, fucking briliant airflow & cooling for bargain it was.
i'm a heavy smoker & although the case has a mesh front & top,it's near spotless of dust inside with just the default intake fan on front & rear that came with it.
i added an intake fan on lower side door fan slot & fitted a corsair h70 above that set as an intake & my phenom 965 (stock clocks) idles at 24c & maxes at around 35c underload on my most cpu heavy game bc2.
also my 5850 (stock clocks) now idles at 35c with gpu fan set at 35% & maxes at 45c because i turn gpu fan up to 50% while gaming case i wanna record with fraps.
Ahoy there mateys. Since I know zilch about cases, I'll ask here. My current case is crap and the resonation makes me go nuts, my cousin said he'd give me one of two cases he has (he sold the components separately and switched to HTPC): Mystique (or something) or Carbide 200R. Which one is better? He says Mystique doesn't have USB3 fronts , but that wouldn't matter much since I'm used to an extension cable anyway. The Carbide is newer. I haven't seen the cases myself, but he says Mystique looks better. Most important criteria for me are: how easy will it be to transfer my current system into it and how silent will it be.
PS. yes I must be lucky this week. I expect a shitstorm next week to balance things out (the 7970 I'll get will probably die )
PPS. the Carbide 200R was mentioned in Tweakers' best buy guide btw. The Dutch will know.
Go with the Carbide. The way it looks is subjective (I prefer the Carbide series over the Mystique), but build quality isn't and Corsair simply did a much better job. The Mystique is cheap through and through.
