Fixed my crashing. I removed my sound card, 8GB of RAM and my TV card. Installed the onboard sound drivers and 6 games in a row without a crash and only once the sound messed up for a minute maybe. 64 player maps. Played Dawnbreaker and Shanghai without any problems.
... you needed less RAM?
Or some problem with those 8GB that you've removed, maybe?

Seems you have Xonar, did you use drivers that came with the card or the MUCH MORE AWESOME and STABLE unified ones ?) These were the last I used with my Xonar and all was good: UNi Xonar 1796 v1.53.exe
Anyway, stick soundcard back in and those drivers if you didn't have 'em, didn't have any problems in BF4 while I was still using it.
(ininital release drivers were only ones that worked in BF3, everything newer crashed the game, that was until I found the Unified ones)
Why pac-man, when there is new directx in BF4 folder ?)
x:\xxx\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx
Also visual C++ runtimes for both x86 and x64 (you can only have one, so run what you use)
x:\xxx\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc
But that was mentioned that it wasn't working properly somehow.
And now that I remember I found it weird for cod ghosts to give me a dxinput1_3.dll error after *supposedly* having installed directx on my win h8 partition from the BF4 binaries.
Had to install it again for cod to ru-- er, gimp along

Windows 7 & Core Parking .... a *better* way to Turn It OFF ....
- Go to Regedit
- Find this key:- " 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 "
- Within this key, there is a value called: " ValueMax "
- This value represents the % number of cores the system will park - the default 100% ie: all Cores are potentially park-able
- Change the value from 64 to 0 so the " ValueMin " and " ValueMax " are both zero
- You will have to find the key a few times and repeat the process for each time it is found - the number of instances will depend on the number of power profiles in your system [ in my DAW it was only found twice ]
- Do a full shutdown and power-off and cold-re-start
Why better? The program linked before didn't work or something?
It's from a forum and there was another way to do the same thing. I don't know if it was posted here before.
@OnBoard Those drivers aren't compatible with my card, I have the Phoebus.
Ah, so it seems

Well I only have Battlefied, no COD here
On a side note, the lazy fucks at Micro$oft really should update the effing name of DirectX redist, it's been directx_Jun2010_redist.exe for 3 years now and latest package is over 2 years old.. Used to download and install those couple times a month, but got to rely on games now for new. Maybe websetup still works, but don't like it.
The DirectX redistributable has not been updated since June 2010 and now DirectX is part of the Windows SDK directly, there's a newer .dll version for Windows 8 (D3DCompiler_46.dll) which is usually bundled with the game needing it such as Crysis 3 or Battlefield 4 and then there's a even newer version for Windows 8.1 (D3DCompiler_47.dll) but this time Microsoft included it with the OS directly.
Ahh, just got out of some real good matches. Starting to kick ass in jets again Feels good.
Anyone else think the pistol upgrades take ridiculously long to get? Sheesh.... also wish nade upgrades would come fast
As for the core parking trick, I did nothing for me at all. I was able to fix the few crashes I had by running the directx redist from within the bf4 directory however.
